2) except, except for与 besides
a. except, except for意为“除了……之外”;
但前者通常指所排除的人或物不在所述范围之内;
而后者表示在说明整个情况后,对细节加以纠正,
用于引出使某陈述不能完全成立的事物。
例:

除了约翰的,所有学生的作文都好。
② His article is excellent except for some spelling mistakes.

b. besides意为“除了……还有”,有包含在内的关系。
