Period 3 (Section B 1a-1e)
设计说明
本节课为听说课。主要通过问句“What are you going to do next year ”引出话题：来年的打算。一开始运用“头脑风暴”形式复习所学过的有关职业的词汇，然后通过图片提示让学生谈论一下他们未来的理想职业以及如何去做。通过师生问答，引出新年决心；通过图片展示新短语，让学生小组问答，以巩固掌握这些短语；通过听力练习，完成1c、1d部分；通过小组调查活动，了解同学们的新年计划，完成该课时的教学目标。
教学目标
1. 知识目标：
(1)掌握单词和短语：resolution，team，foreign，make the soccer team。
(2)掌握句式：“—What are you going to do next year —Well，I’m going to take guitar lessons.” “—How are you going to do that —Well，I’m going to study hard and get good grades.”。
2. 能力目标：让学生掌握以上句式，并能用英语谈论、描述自己或他人的新年计划和决心。
3. 情感目标：通过谈论自己的新年计划激励自己努力学习。
重点难点
1. 重点：
(1)掌握本课时出现的生词及句式。
(2)进行听力训练，提高综合听说能力。
2. 难点：学习运用一般将来时描绘自己的人生理想和为之奋斗的计划；尝试各种计划的表达。
教学准备
多媒体课件、录音机和磁带、调查表格。
教学过程
Step 1　Revision & Warming up
1. Check the homework.
2. Say the words of jobs(teacher，nurse，doctor，actor，actress，runner，basketball player，pilot，waiter，computer programmer，pianist，scientist，violinist...).
Ask students to work in groups and write as many words as they can(in five minutes).
3. Talk about their dream jobs and how to do that.
(Show the pictures of a pilot，a computer programmer，a doctor，a teacher，a singer and an engineer. )
For example：
I want to be an engineer. I’m going to study math really hard.
Step 2　Presentation
1. Practice like this：
T：New Year is coming. Let’s make New Year’s resolutions. I’m going to eat healthier food. What are you going to do next year
S1：I’m going to get good grades.

Ask students to work in pairs to talk about their New Year’s resolutions(with the help of the pictures above).
2. Match the pictures with the New Year’s resolutions. Number the pictures [1-5]. (1a)

3. Present some other New Year’s resolutions on the big screen.
For example：take guitar lessons；learn a foreign language.
4. Let students try to remember these resolutions and think of other resolutions.
5. Get students to translate the following phrases.
(1)New Year’s resolutions 新年决心
(2)play the piano 弹钢琴
(3)make the soccer team 成为足球队的一员
(4)get good grades 取得好成绩
(5)eat healthier food 吃更健康的食物
(6)get lots of exercise 多锻炼
(7)take guitar lessons 上吉他课
(8)learn another foreign language 学习另一门外语
(9)study hard 努力学习
Note：get lots of exercise意为“多锻炼”，exercise此处用作不可数(可数/不可数)名词，意为“锻炼；运动”；exercise用作可数名词时，意为“一套动作；练习(题)”，do some exercises“做一些练习”。
Step 3　Practice (1b)
1. Talk about your New Year’s resolutions with your partner. Then check them.
For example：
A：What are you going to do next year
B：Well，I’m going to take guitar lessons. I really love music.
A：Sounds interesting. I’m going to learn another foreign language.
B：Are you Great! But foreign languages are not for me.
Note：
①Sounds interesting. 听起来很有趣。sound此处用作连系动词，意为“听起来”，其后常跟形容词作表语。
②foreign是形容词，意为“外国的”，其名词形式是foreigner。
2. Make sentences with be going to.
①Peter，make a New Year’s resolution
Peter is going to make a New Year’s resolution.
②Lingling，learn to play the piano
Is Lingling going to learn to play the piano
③Tom，get good grades
Tom is going to get good grades.
④Henry，get lots of exercise，to，keep，healthy
Henry is going to get lots of exercise to keep healthy.
Step 4　Listening
Work on 1c.
1. Tell students to listen and circle the resolutions they hear in 1a.
2. Check the answers.

Work on 1d.
1. T：Now please look at the chart in 1d. Lucy，Kim and Mike are talking about their New Year’s resolutions. How are they going to do it
Listen and try to complete the chart.
听力指导：本题要求同学们听清他们打算如何做来实现他们各自的理想。因此，同学们在听的时候应将注意力放在“如何做”上。第一遍仅听，努力记住要做的事情；听第二遍的时候再把“如何做”写出来。
2. Ask students to listen to the recording carefully and try to complete the chart.
3. Play the recording again and check the answers with the class.

Mike He’s going to practice really hard，and this summer he’s going to go to a soccer camp.
Step 5　Group work
1. Make a list of other resolutions and how you are going to make them work. Then discuss them with your group. (1e)
2. Work in groups. And fill in the chart.

答案与解析：
Ⅰ. 1. A　上句句意：我的新年决心是去青岛旅游。A项是对别人的想法表示赞同，符合句意，故选A。
2. C　an actor“一名(男)演员”；take acting lessons“上表演课”。
3. B　be sure about sth. “对某件事有把握”。句意：“琳达在哪里 ” “她可能在家里，但是我不确定。”
4. A　write down“写下”，是由“动词+副词”构成的短语，宾语是代词时，必须放在write和 down之间。
5. D　由答语“Next week.”可知问句询问时间，故选D。
Ⅱ. 1. made，resolutions　根据时间状语yesterday可判断，该句用一般过去时，“确定新年决心”为make New Year’s resolutions，make的过去式为made。
2. How，be　该句询问方式，因此用how提问。
3. study hard，get　be going to后跟动词原形；study hard“努力学习”；get good grades“取得好成绩”。
4. What，going　“什么”用what表示，“打算做某事”用be going to do sth. 表示。
