现在时间状语 过去时间状语
When she was five, she could dance just a little.
when意为“当…时候”,此处为连接副词,引导时间状语从句,放在主句前,用逗号与主句分开;放在主句后,不用逗号与主句分开。
但是当她五岁时,她仅会跳一点儿舞。
e.g. He could swim when he was very young.
They both like playing ball games.
1. both“两者都”,作they的同位语,它放在实义动词前,be动词和情态动词后。
他们两个都喜欢球类运动。
e.g. We are both students.
2. both表示“两者都”;三者或者三者以上用all。
e.g. My parents are both teachers.
My friends all went to the park yesterday.
3. Both of+复数代词 both (of the)+复数名词
e.g. Both (of the) boys are very good.

2.can/could的用法
①表示一般的能力,指现在、过去无论什么时候想做就能做到的能力;
could表示过去的能力,can表示现在或将来的能力。
e.g. A hen can’t swim.
I couldn’t play the piano until I was five years old.

②表示“理论上的可行性”,即事件或情况可能发生但并不牵涉到是否会真的发生。有时指一时的情况,常译为“有时候会”。
e.g. Driving on these roads can be very dangerous.
③ 在否定句和疑问句中,can表示可能性,有惊异、怀疑、不相信之意,这时can与could没有时间上的差异,只是could语气要轻一些。
