写作:
第一节
My Intelligent Robot for the Elderly
As we all know, with the development of society, people have to face various pressures. They don’t
have enough time to attend to the old people in their families, which has become a social problem. To solve
this problem, I designed a kind of household robot, which is intended to take care of old people.
It can cook meals at a fixed time which can be adjusted according to individual needs. It can also
accompany old people in having a chat, playing chess, and doing exercise. Moreover, it can deal with
emergencies. For example, if an old man falls ill suddenly, the robot will call doctors for help. It would be
of great help for us if we own such a robot.
I hope everyone can find my robot beneficial to them.
Karan
It was Joyce’s turn to display his project. Making his way to the platform with heavy steps, Joyce
placed all the materials for his project well and began to conduct his math magic quiz on the circuit board.
He prayed in his heart that his lights would glow again but in vain. Hearing other students whispering to
each other, Joyce’s face was red with shame. He hung his head and stepped back to his seat. And then
Karan’s team showed their project. With joint efforts, they made it.
Finally, the teacher announced Karan’s team was the winner. All the children burst into thunderous
applause on hearing that. Karan and his partners walked up to the front with great excitement. They were
awarded and also received the surprise gift from Mangat Madam. After class, Joyce approached Karan,
1
expressed admiration for his team’s project and congratulated on their success sincerely. That day, Joyce
learnt the biggest lesson of his life: it is always better to work as a team rather than working alone.

This is Bruce Ogilvy with the noon news update for City Radio. President Barry Jeffries has announced that
the government will provide 60 million in relief to communities that suffered from the effects of the
weekend earthquake. (18) Hundreds of people who lost homes have been housed in hotels, the homes of
volunteers and schools. Some of the money promised by the President will be used to help repair roads and

for rebuilding the broken houses. (18) The earthquake is so far known to have cost ten lives. However,
there was one piece of good news this morning. A ten-year-old boy found his anxious parents after being
lost in the chaos. The rescue team also needs more medical workers to join. If you want to help, please call
our local Red Cross. (19) For more news and information on the efforts, visit our website at

It’s a simple yet effective message that appeals, and leads to a satisfying way of motivating us to
promote environmentalism in our own way.
Born in Nairobi, Lesein Mutunkei is in his late teens, and his Trees4Goals is the means with which he
intends to make the world greener. It unites two of his self-declared passions in life: love of the outdoors,
with his love of football. Lesein enjoyed walking in the forest, but recognized his country was experiencing
a serious loss of tree coverage. Between 2001 and 2020, Kenya lost an estimated 11% of trees, releasing as
many as 176 million tons of CO2.
In a blog post for WWF Kenya, Lesein revealed that, once he started the Trees4Goals initiative, he
originally planned to plant one tree per goal. By 2020, he wanted to take his efforts even further. What
started as one tree planted per goal mushroomed into 11 trees planted per goal. Explaining the reasoning
behind expanding the tree-planting, he said, “It represents team effort in football and the contribution by
my team. I have managed to hit the 1, 000th tree milestone in the last two years.”
While it’s something of an own goal to destroy the forests and jungles providing enormous
biodiversity, innovative initiatives like Trees4Goals are an assured way to score an environmentalist
hat-trick. Football is popular. It cuts through cultural barriers regardless of the country it is played in. By
increasing the trees planted per goal, with more such initiatives springing up, even more will be grown.
Like a seed, best ideas start small and change into something that can become far larger than
anticipated. While Lesein continues planting 11 trees per goal, Kenyan government is aiming to ensure the
planting of 1. 8 billion trees to reach 10% forest coverage. The science behind is clear: if 900 million
hectares are devoted to half a trillion trees, the world can offset(抵消)half of all carbon released since 1960.
24. What gave Lesein the idea of launching the project
A. Release of too much CO2. B. Dream of motivating others.
C. Passion for sports and nature. D. Habit of exercising in the woods.
25. What did Lesein do in 2020
A. He created a blog for WWF. B. He multiplied his commitment.
C. He planted one tree for each goal. D. He extended his work to other teams.
26. What do the underlined words “own goal” in paragraph 4 refer to
A. Aim that is intended to achieve. B. Action that harms one’s own interests.
4
C. Pursuit toward which effort is directed. D. Goal that is scored for the opposing team.
27. What can we learn from Lesein’s story
A. United, we win. B. No pains, no gains.
C. Love me, love my dog. D. Small deeds, big difference.
C
Ice-coated vines (葡萄藤) stretched across hillsides around Chablis, France, as the region woke
Monday to the temperature of -5℃. Fruit growers are worried that the frost will kill off large numbers of
early buds (花蕾) and disturb the whole growing season.
The frost is particularly disturbing after a similar phenomenon hit French vineyards last year, leading
to some 2 billion euros in losses. Scientists later found that the damaging 2021 frost was made more likely
by climate change.
Some growers tried to warm the vines with electrical lines, or set up special watering systems, or
sprayed (洒) the buds with water to protect them from frost. The water creates a thin layer of ice that
ensures the buds’ temperature remains around freezing point but does not drop much lower.
Daniel Defaix, whose vineyard has been producing wine for 400 years and lived through many climate
disasters, calls what’s happening now “a very, very serious frost.” He placed candles on the soil to protect
about five hectares of his most valuable grapes, but had to leave the remaining 25 hectares to face the
forces of nature. At a cost of 10 euros per candle, and 600 candles per hectare, it was too costly to save the
rest of the grapes.
The 2021 April frost led to what French government officials described as “probably the greatest
agricultural disaster of the beginning of the 21st century.” The pattern was similar: an intense April 6 – 8
frost after a lengthy warm period in March.
The researchers concluded that the warming caused by humans had coaxed the plants so that they
exposed their young leaves earlier than usual, before a burst of Arctic cold reached Europe in April.
28. What did Daniel Defaix do to protect his vines
A. Heat the vines with electrical lines. B. Spray the buds with water.
C. Set up special watering systems. D. Warm the vines with candles.
29. What can we infer from the text
A. Growers can save most of their crops. B. The 2022 frost is the worst in history.
C. Humans are to blame for the damage. D. The weather last March was normal.
30. What does the underlined word “coaxed” in the last paragraph mean
5
A. Protected. B. Dried. C. Tricked. D. Delayed.
31. Which is the best title of the text
A. Causes of Early Budding. B. Late Frost Threatens Vine Crops.
C. Creative Ways to Save Vines. D. Global Warming Brings Extreme Weather.

Technology is more than an abstract concept associated with advanced tools and systems. It also
shapes the way people behave, grow and develop, both within their own lives and in their relationships with
others. While technology has developed over thousands of years, the last century has seen an explosion in
technology that has influenced fundamental changes in how humans see the world and interact with others.
Specifically, the Internet and mobile devices have completely changed the way people interact with each
other. There has been a debate going on whether technology is benefiting human communication or ruining
it.
Undoubtedly, technology is helping people build newer and necessary communication skills. In
business, office employees and managers use technology to send emails to one another, which is considered
a communication skill. On social media, just share a few of your images and people start communicating on
and about your images according to their viewpoint. With the outbreak of COVID-19, in order to work on
the projects, the students use their phones to reach their teachers and classmates.
However, technology is sometimes considered to disconnect people from others around them. With
cell phones, most people think that it’s easier and more convenient to text instead of meeting in person.
Lucas Lengacher, an undergraduate from Huntington University, claims in his article that at least 42.91%
people respond to messages immediately yet only 2.83% people don’t check their phones in the morning. In
his research he “found that almost 60 percent of people felt disconnected from others around when they
were on their phones”.
32. Which has basically influenced human interaction according to the passage
A. People's value. B. Social systems.
C. Mobile devices. D. Communication skills.
33. How is the idea of paragraph 2 supported
A. By analyzing data. B. By providing cases.
C. By defining a concept D. By making comparisons.
34. What does Lucas’s research find
A. Phones are getting more and more popular.
6
B. Phones disconnect us when we are together.
C. People are eager for personal communication.
D. People communicate less because of physical distance.
35. What is the author’s attitude to technology
A. Disappointed. B. Positive. C. Doubtful. D. Objective.

Joyce is in the fourth grade and he joined the noisy children of his class as usual. “Children!
Silence!” Mangat Madam suddenly entered the class. She announced next week would be math week. “I’d
like each of you to work on a project. You could do it individually or in a group.” she instructed. “The topic
for the project needs approving tomorrow and it has to be displayed at the math week exhibition. The best
project will be awarded and there is also a surprise gift from my side,” she added.
Joyce, who is extremely good at math, sat in the corner seat of the first bench with Karan, an average.
Karan asked Joyce if they could work on the math project together. Joyce replied in a prideful tone, “Ha-ha
you want to join me. I think I will do the project on my own.” Joyce wanted to get awarded and the surprise
gift all for himself from Mangat Madam.
After deep consideration, Joyce decided to work on a math magic quiz on the circuit board(电路板).
The next day in school, Mangat Madam arrived in the classroom and all the children submitted their topics
for math exhibition. They all chose to work in a group except Joyce. In the following days, Joyce gathered
all the materials for the project such as wires, bulbs (灯泡), a switch and a thin plywood board (胶合板).
He worked out a few mathematical basic operations to be fixed on the board so that when the wire of the
circuit touched the right answer, the bulb glowed(发光). Joyce completed the project and was happy with
the result.
The evening before the exhibition, while packing his school bags, Joyce again checked the project to
see if it was working fine. Alas! All the lights that were to glow did not seem to light at all. Without finding
the reason, Joyce was tense. However, he decided to take the same project to the school as he couldn’t
change the topic at the last minute. Then came the next day, and everybody was fascinated in the
exhibition.
