本文选自外研社八下第二模块第一单元。文本内容主要为Daming跟Tony讲述自己对深圳的印象,他从历史、人口、位置、著名景点这四个主要方面介绍了这座城市,并且在介绍的过程中运用了大量的比较级来凸显深圳和其他城市相比的主要特点以及他对深圳的喜爱。通过学习本文,学生可以知晓如何运用比较级比较家乡和其他城市,并抒发对自己家乡的喜爱之情。
教学目标
学生能够通过使用比较级来比较自己的家乡和其他城市,并抒发对自己家乡的喜爱。
学生能够从历史、人口、位置、著名景点这至少四个方面来介绍自己的家乡。
学生能够以小组合作的方式讨论并比较自己的家乡和其他城市。
教学流程
Pre-listening
Lead in
The students need to ask some questions to guess where the teacher comes from, and the teacher will find one word or phrase to summarize the question, like population and famous place.
Intention: This step aims to help students build a basic mind-map of introducing one city, and the students will also be exposed to some new words like, south, north and million.
Listen to a short dialogue
At this step, students need to listen to a short dialogue to complete the basic information card of Shanghai and Hong Kong. The teacher will also tell students to predict based on pictures.
Intention: The activity aims to help students consolidate the listening skill: predicting based on pictures, and students will also be firstly exposed to the comparative forms.
While-listening
Listen to the long dialogue (listen for the general idea)
At this step, the students will listen to the long dialogue. They need to listen and tick the aspects Daming talking about in the dialogue to introduce Shenzhen. The aspects students need to tick are shown in the blackboard in the lead-in stage.
Intention: The activity aims to help students have a general idea of the passage.
Listen to the long dialogue(listen for the detailed information)
Students need to listen for the key words and fill in the blanks, and the key words are comparative forms.

Intention: This step aims to consolidate students’ skill of listening for the detailed information. After this activity, students will not only have a better understanding of this passage, but also be more familiar with the comparative forms.
Listen, read and think
At this step, students need to listen and read the long dialogue to find out the information about whether Daming likes Shenzhen.
Intention: This step aims to help student intake what they have learned before, and student will know the function of stress, which can express the speaker’s like to something.
Post-listening
Have a debate about the topic “My hometown VS Shenzhen”
Students need to take part in a debate. Each group will be divided into two party, one supporting the topic “My home town is better”, one supporting the topic “Shenzhen is better”.
Intention: It can help students consolidate what they have learned in the class, and they have the opportunity to express their own ideas.
Evaluate other’s work
Students need to evaluate others’ debate based on the checklist(1. introducing their city from at least four aspects 2. using stress to express their likes 3. using comparative forms)
Intention: It can help students develop evaluating skills. When they evaluate others’ work, they can review what they have learned one more time.
Summary
The teacher will ask students to have a summary of what they have learned through some aspects like the words, grammar points, how to introduce one’s city, and using stress to express one’s likes to city.
Homework
Must do:
1. Listen the tape for three times and imitate.
Make a vlog to introduce your hometown and compare it with other cities.
Choose to do:
Write a passage to introduce your hometown and compare it with other cities.

修改:板书较原版删去了comparative forms这一语法术语,因为该术语对于学生来说难以理解,且此课为听说课,重点不应该放在语法术语的讲解上。
