We use adverbs to describe how people/things do something.
Adverbs
The wind is blowing gently.
The wind is blowing strongly.
The adverbs ‘gently’ and ‘strongly’ describe the action ‘blow’.
We use adverbs to describe how people/things do something.

The boy is crying sadly.

The children are flying their kites happily.
We usually put the adverb after the verb.
Sometimes we put the adverb after the noun.
We usually form an adverb by adding ‘ly’ to the adjective.

soft + ly = softly
slow + ly = slowly
When an adjective ends in ‘–y’, we change the ‘y’ to ‘i’ and then add ‘ly’.
The rain is pouring heavily.

Sometimes the adjective and adverb are the same.
My dad goes to work early.
