1.定义：表示两类人或事物之间的比较，一个比另一个在程度上更进一步。
形容词的比较级
2.形容词比较级规则变化：
一般在词尾加-er small→smaller; old→older
以字母e结尾的形容词直接加-r nice→nicer; large→larger
以重读闭音节结尾的形容词，如末尾只有一个辅音字母，应双写该字母，再加-er big→bigger; hot→hotter
多音节词和部分双音节词在词前加more popular→more popular;
beautiful→more beautiful
以辅音字母加y结尾的形容词，把y变i，再加-er busy→busier; easy→easier
好坏多少老远 good/well→better; bad/badly→worse；many/much→more; little→less；old→older/elder; far→farther/further

4. 形容词比较级的句式：
（1）同级比较的句式：
①A + be+ as+形容词原级+as+B，指“A和B一样……”。
Mary is as tall as Lucy.
②A + be not+ as/so+形容词原级+as+B，指“A和B不一样/不及/不如……”。
Tom is not as/so tall as Mike.
（2）比较级句式：
①A + be + 形容词比较级 + than + B，指“A比B更…”，than 后面动词往往省略。
He is younger than I(am).
②Which/Who is + 比较级, A or B ，表示两者之间的选择。
Who is taller, Tom or John
③主语+ be + the 比较级+ of the two. ，两个之中比较……的那一个
Tom is the taller of the two.
④The +比较级……，the + 比较级…….表示“越……就越……”。
The more you study, the more you know.
⑤比较级的重叠结构：“比较级+and+比较级”，多音节词和部分双音节词时用“more and more+形容词原级”，表示“越来越……”。
It’s getting warmer and warmer in spring.
拓展：
⑴可修饰比较级的副词有：much(更……；……得多)，even(甚至)，still (更)，alittle (一点)，a bit (有点)，far(更/非常/极……)，rather(“相当)等词，位于比较级之前。very不能和比较级连用。如：
I feel much better now.
To play basketball is far more enjoyable to theboy.
⑵比较级前面可以加上表示具体数量差别的结构，表示具体“大多少”，“小多少”，“长多少”，“短多少”等。
