一、教学目标
1. 熟练掌握下列词汇和短语:community, chance, educate, manage, society, keep…away from, make one’s own decision, may be allowed to do sth.
2. 掌握并运用下列句型:
I don’t think sixteen-year-olds should be allowed to drive.
I agree. They aren’t serious enough.
Teenagers are too young to make their own decisions.
Do you think we may be allowed to take photos if we don’t use a flash
If you don’t use a flash, then it may be OK.
3. 能够掌握含有情态动词的被动语态结构的肯定、否定和疑问结构及其应答。
4. 能够运用含有情态动词的被动语态谈论校园生活和规则。
5. 通过了解和反思自己的言行举止是否符合中学生日常行为准则,养成自觉遵守规则的良好习惯。

重点:
1. 掌握本单元出现的词汇、短语及目标语言。
2. 掌握含有情态动词的被动语态结构的肯定、否定和疑问结构及其应答。
难点:
运用含有情态动词的被动语态谈论校园生活和规则。

四、教学过程
Task 1
Step 1 Warming-up
Look at the pictures and talk about them.
【设计意图】通过复习学过的有关情态动词的被动语态的短语,检测学生对旧知的掌握情况。
Step 2 Presentation
Work on Grammar focus
Read the sentences in Grammar Focus and learn the usage of them.
Grammar points
含有情态动词的被动语态:用来说明某个被动性动作所反映出的感情和态度。常见的与被动语态一起用的情态动词有:can, could, may, might, must, should等。
构成:情态动词 + be + 及物动词的过去分词
Step 3 Practice
Do some grammar exercises and check the answers.
Work on 4a~4b
1. Rewrite the sentences according to the example.
2. Fill in the blanks with the correct forms of the words in brackets.
【设计意图】让学生通过阅读题干的方式来总结情态动词的被动语态的用法,教师加以总结归纳,加深学生印象。后让学生做题巩固情态动词的被动语态这一重要的语法点。

Make a list of rules about what should and should not be allowed.

1. Read the questions. Write A for always, U for usually, S for sometimes and N for never. Then
talk with their partners about other things they do.
2. Talk about their answers in 1a.

1. Listen and circle the things in 1a that Peter talks about.

Read the statements. Then discuss them in groups.
