Analysis of teaching material 本节课是一节阅读课。2a为读前活动,要求学生列出自己所知的好的学习方法并与同伴讨论,旨在导入话题,为阅读作好准备。2b侧重训练阅读的寻读策略,2c提出了关于文章各个细节的问题,需要学生细读文章找到答案。2d-2e为读后活动,2d结合本单元提出的使用词典的学习策略。2e是阅读后延伸性口语交流活动,旨在训练学生口头表达能力的同时,引导学生养成积极的学习态度。
Analysis of students 经过本单元前面内容的学习后,学生就如何学习英语这一话题已经有一定的知识储备。对学习英语遇到的困难和解决办法有一定的了解,但需要学生结合自身学习情况,反思自己是否具备优秀学习者应具备的学习习惯和方法。有意识地结合自身实际选择有效学习方式来去的学习上的成功。

Learning ability 1.To use the reading strategy—Using dictionaries To use reading skills of scamming and scanning to finish reading tasks and understand the text better.
Thinking quality 1.Think of the most useful ways of learning for themselves. 2.To give advice on how to learn well with target language to friends.
Cultural awareness 2.Educate the students to learn how to learn and find right ways of learning English and overcome the difficulties to become a successful learner.

step1 Warming up& Lead-in 1.Enjoy a speech video. 2.List the learning habits. 1.listen to the teachers carefully in class; 2.take notes ; 3. have conversations with friends to improve spoken English. 4. watch English movies 5. often ask the teachers for help 6. read books and magazines Watch the speech video. Finish 2a. To lead in the topic and create a learning environment.
Step2 Pre-reading Teacher shows the picture & title to the students and ask question:Can you guess what the passage is talking about Observe the picture & title and guess what the passage is about. To develop students’ the ability of prediction.
Step3 While-reading Skimming Ask Ss to read quickly finish the task in 2b. Read quickly and finish the tasks. To use the reading skill of skimming.
Step4 While-reading Scanning Ask Ss to read the passage again and answer the questions in 2c. Read carefully and find out answers to the questions in 2c. To develop students’ the reading skill of scanning to find more details.
Step5 Post-reading1 Finish 2d. Let students look up the words from the passage in the dictionary. Then write a sentence of each word. Look up the words in the dictionary and write down sentences. To develop students’ the ability of self-dependent learning .
Step6 Post-reading2 Read the learning habits aloud. Choose the learning habits you like best and share them with the partners. Find out the learning habits they like best and share. To consolidate the target language and prepare for writing.
Step7 Post-reading3 2. Finish 2e. Do you think you are a good learner What learning habits do you think are useful Discuss with your group and share your ideas with the class. Discuss and share the useful learning habits with class. To let every student involve in the activities.
Step8 Summary Write down key phrases: depend on have ...in common be interested in be born with pay attention to connect...with get bored be good at even if keep doing sth. Take down and remember key phrases: be afraid of doing sth. make mistakes take notes write down key words draw mind map Use it or lose it. Practice makes perfect. Knowledge comes from questioning. To let students output the knowledge they learn this period.
Step9 Homework Level A: Re-write How to become a successful learner with their own idea. Level B :Make sentences with key words and phrases in this passage.
