形容词和副词的最高级
当我们需要对三个或三个以上的人或事物进行比较，来表达最高、最快、最远等意义的时候，我们可以用形容词和副词的最高级来表达。如：
It’s the most expensive way, but it’s the most comfortable one.
British Airways is one of the busiest international airlines.
最高级的表达有两种方式：一种是在词尾加-est，另一种是在词前加most。其变化用下表表示：

单音节和少数双音节词 一般在词尾加-est tall, long, short, old, small, fast tallest, longest, shortest, oldest, smallest, fastest
以字母e结尾的形容词 / 副词，直接加-st nice, fine, large, close nicest, finest, largest, closest

单音节和少数双音节词 以重读闭音节结尾的形容词 / 副词，如末尾只有一个辅音字母，应先双写该字母，再加-est. big, hot, red, thin biggest, hottest, reddest, thinnest
以“辅音字母+y”结尾的形容词副词，先把y变成I,再加-est. busy, early, easy busiest, easiest, earliest

以上是符合规律的形容词或副词的变化形式，还有些不符合规律、有特殊的变化形式，即不规则变化。如：
far — farther — farthest
good / well — better — best
bad / badly / ill — worse — worst
many / much — more — most
little — less — least
形容词和副词的最高级的用法
当对三者或三者以上的事物进行比较时，通常会用到形容词或副词的最高级。此时，形容词的最高级前通常加定冠词the, 副词最高级前面多数不带定冠词the ；当最高级前有物主代词、指示代词或名词所有格修饰时，则其前不加the。

the +形容词 / 副词最高级+表示范围的短语(如of all, of the three, in the world等)
一、最高级的句式结构：
1. “one of the + 形容词最高级 + 复数名词”表示“最……之一”
William Shakespeare is one of the most famous writers in England.
威廉·莎士比亚是英国最著名的作家之一。
Rose is one of the most beautiful flowers in my opinion.
我认为玫瑰是最好看的花之一。
二、最高级的特殊用法：
2. “the + 序数词 + 形容词最高级 + 单数可数名词”表示“第几……”
The Yellow River is the second longest river in China.
黄河是中国第二长河。
Shanghai Tower is the first tallest building in China.
上海中心大厦是中国第一高楼。
3. “形容词 / 副词比较级 + than + any other + 单数可数名词”也可以表达最高级意义，表示“比其他任何……都……”
