After starting to play basketball at just four years old, Riley Morrison fell in love with the sport. Now, the nine-year-old from Napa spends most of her time practicing her skills and playing for the St. Apollinaris Catholic Church basketball team in Napa.
When she's not playing basketball herself, the fourth grader likes to spend much of her free time watching her favorite basketball player, point guard Steph Curry, play for the Golden State Warriors, which also happens to be Morrison's favorite NBA team.
Morrison has been a longtime fan of Curry because of his impressive and dynamic basketball skills that lead to him being awarded MVP more than once as well as a few championship titles. And when Morrison goes to Warrior games with her dad, Chris Morrison, she always wears her No. 30 Warriors shirt to show support for her favorite player.
When watching games at home, the nine-year-old often pretends to be Curry and tries to practice his strong playing style. However, Morrison isn't Curry's fan just for his talent on the court. For Morrison and other young female basketball players, Curry is a hero because of what he does when he's not playing for the Warriors. Over the years, Curry has become an advocate for women's rights issues and has spoken out in support of issues like equal pay.
As a husband and father to two young daughters, Curry has become outspoken about how important it has become for him to support his wife, Ayesha, and their daughters. On top of spreading awareness about closing the pay gap, Curry has hosted a girl's basketball camp to encourage young female athletes.
4. What does Morrison do besides practicing her skills
A. She sends e-mails to Steph Curry. B. She contacts her favorite NBA team.
C. She watches the games of Steph Curry. D. She plays for the Golden State Warriors.
5. Why does Morrison regard Curry as a hero

New research from Edith Cowan University(ECU)has found being confident in the kitchen is not only good for your taste buds, it's also good for your mental health.
In total, 657 participants undertook the seven-week healthy cooking course. Researchers found those who participated in the program saw significant improvements in general health, mental health and subjective vitality immediately after the program which remained six months after completing the course, when compared to the study's control group.
"Improving people's diet quality can be a preventive strategy to stop or slow the rise in poor mental health, obesity and other health disorders," Dr Joanna Rees said. "Future health programs should continue to prioritise the barriers to healthy eating such as poor food environments and time restrictions, while placing greater emphasis on the value of healthy eating via quick and easy home-cooked meals, rich in fruit and vegetables and avoiding processed convenience foods."
The Institute has previously found a link between eating more fruits and vegetables, and improved longer term mental health in a larger study collecting more complex dietary data, implying the participants in the current study may have felt better due to improved diet. However, the study showed participants' mental health improved despite their reported diet not being found to have changed after completing the program.
At the start of the program, 77 per cent of participants who' identified as female claimed to be confident about cooking, compared to just 23 per cent of those who identified as male. But at the end of the program, cooking confidence and cooking skills were equal across both groups.
This change in confidence could see change to the household food environment by reducing the gender prejudice and leading to a gender balance in home cooking. This in turn may help to overcome some of the barriers presented by not knowing how to cook, such as easing the time limits which can lead to ready-made meals which are high in energy but low in nutritional value.
8. What can we learn from what Dr Joanna Rees said
A. Processed convenience foods benefit people.
B. Time restrictions lead to healthy eating.
C. He thinks it urgent to improve people's diet quality.
D. Home-cooked meals are better choices.
9. What is the benefit of eating more fruit and vegetables
A. Better mental health. B. Improved memories.
C. Losing weight. D. Increasing creativity.
10. How did researchers know cooking can increase confidence
A. By answering questions. B. By making contrasts.
C. By giving examples. D. By analyzing causes.
11. What is a suitable title for the text
A. Is the Kitchen Revolution Important
B. Learning Cooking Course Turns Popular
C. Healthy Home Cooking Equals a Healthy Mind
D. Being Confident in the Kitchen Benefits Confidence
D
New Zealand's government recently announced it will help pay for poorer families to replace their old cars with cleaner hybrid or electric vehicles.
The government plans to spend $357 million on the test program. The move is part of a wider plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Greenhouse gases are believed to cause warming temperatures in the Earth's atmosphere. New Zealand plans to provide aid for businesses to reduce emissions and have buses that run on environmentally safe fuel by 2035. The government also plans to provide food-waste collection for most homes by 2030.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said in a statement, "We've all seen the recent reports on sea level rise and its impact right here in New Zealand. We cannot leave the issue of climate change until it's too late to fix."
The plan is a step toward New Zealand's stated goal of reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Reaching net-zero emissions means not creating more carbon in the atmosphere than oceans and forests can remove. Ardern said that reducing dependence on fossil fuels would help protect families from extreme price increases. The plan also sets a goal of reducing total car travel by 20 percent over the next 13 years. The programs will be paid for from a $ 2.8 billion climate emergency response fund. Officials said that over time, money collected from polluters would pay for the programs rather than taxes from families.
Some critics of the plan say it continued to be less restrictive on New Zealand's huge agriculture industry. Agriculture creates about half of the nation's total greenhouse gas emissions. But the industry is also important to the economy as the nation's biggest export earner.
David Seymour is the leader of New Zealand's ACT political party. He said that some of the announced programs are proven to be ineffective and have been tried and failed overseas. People should be able to choose how they reduce emissions through the market-based emissions trading plan.
12. What does the author intend to convey in Paragraph 2
A. The urgency of investment. B. The measures to be taken.
C. The popular test program. D. The harm of emissions.
13. What do Jacinda Ardern's words in Paragraph 3 suggest
A. It's urgent to take steps on climate change.
B. Sea level rise has little effect on New Zealand.
C. He laid stress on the importance to tackle pollution.
D. It draws public attention to solve environmental problems.
14. Who will pay for the next programs
A. Families. B. Polluters. C. Car makers. D. The government.
15. What does David Seymour emphasize
A. Dynamic emission reduction scheme. B. The impact of exports on the economy.
C. Specific standards for emission reduction. D. The nation's total greenhouse gas emissions.

When you respect those you share a room with, you may find that your living situation can be quite enjoyable.
Make them a priority. Part of respecting someone is making them a priority in your life. Deciding that they aren't good enough to devote much of your time to makes them seem unimportant. It also sends the message that you don't respect them enough to make them a big part of your life. 16
Give praise. Your partner needs to hear what you like about them, even if you've been together for long. 17 . Offering praise can bring you closer together and can strengthen your level of respect for each other.
18 . You are likely polite to your parents, friends, and boss because you respect them. You probably wouldn't think about giving them attitude or criticism. Adopt this same way of thinking for your partner. Choosing to be kind, and polite shows you respect them, which can make a world of difference in your relationship.
