①watch意为“观看；注视”，为感官动词，其后既可接动词原形，又可接v. ing形式。接动词原形表示“观看某人做某事(全过程)”，即watch sb.do sth.；接v. ing表示“观看某人正在做某事”，即watch sb.doing sth.。
eg：Many people like to watch others play games.许多人喜欢看其他人打比赛。

【拓展】watch常用于看电视，比赛以及各种表演场面等，有欣赏的意味；look指集中注意力地看，强调“看”的动作，单独使用时，用来引起对方的注意，后面跟宾语，要加介词at；see强调“看”的结果，意为“看见，看到”。

【拓展】It is up to sb. to do sth.是be up to sb.的扩展，意为“做某事应由某人决定；做某事是……的职责”。
②be up to可表示“从事于；忙于”，后常接名词、代词或v. ing形式。

③be up to还可表示“胜任；适合；适于”。
