Procedure
Lead-in Review: Translate the phrases in Unit 2 into English.
Step 1 Present some sentences with adverbial clauses. Ask Ss to read and think.
Step 2 Present more sentences with adverbial clauses.
Step 3 Introduce the concept of Adverb Clauses of Time.
Step 4 Explain the use of when and while by giving examples. Make Ss understand the differences between them.
Step 5 Explain the use of before, after, as soon as, since, until.
Step 6 Complete the sentences in Activity 1.
Step 7 Do more exercise.
Step 8 Exercise from Senior High School Entrance Examination.
Step 9 Ask Ss to talk about their holiday plans, giving some phrases.
Step 10 Read the table in Activity 7 and first get familiar with the information.
Step 11 Listen and complete the table. Check the answers as a class.
Step 12 Listen again and answer the questions.
Step 13 Free talkAsk Ss to talk about the four speakers’ holiday plans. Which one is the most interesting
Step 14 Present the map, pictures and a passage about Greece.
Step 15 First ask Ss to read the passage in Activity 9 and then complete it with the sentences in the box.
