一、教材分析
本课教材为外研社《英语》（新标准）（三年级起点）四年级下册Module 9
Unit 1 Did he live in New York 本单元的课文情景是Daming给 Sam看他的表哥 Dalong从美国寄来的明信片。本单元主要的学习重点是行为动词一般过去时的一般疑问句结构。学生已经学过一般现在时的一般疑问句结构，熟悉：“Do you… Does he … ”这一结构。因此，“Did you… Did he… ”等行为动词一般过去时的一般疑问句结构学习难度不会很大。
二、学情分析
本单元的教学对象为三起英语的四年级学生，他们活泼好动，注意力容易分散，爱表现。他们对直观、新颖、有趣的内容感兴趣，喜欢参与活动。经过一年半的英语学习，他们具备了初步的听说读写的技能，可以提高对他们的要求。本单元主要的学习重点是一般过去时的一般疑问句结构。这一部分学生已经接触过，相对比较容易。所以在本节课的设计上，教学中应利用PPT、单词卡片，游戏等尽量直观地呈现教学内容，以便优秀学生能有所发挥的同时让基础薄弱的学生也能参与其中，掌握相关句型、词汇，进一步使学生能够听懂对话识读生词。
