Step 3 完成教材2a-2e的任务
【操作案例】
1.要求学生列举出人们开办的各种晚会的清单。
2.要求学生快速默读短文掌握大意,并把2b短文前的原因与各段e mail搭配起来。然后邀请几位同学给出自己的答案。
3.要求学生再一次阅读短文,然后回答2c中的问题。然后邀请几名同学念出自己的答案。
4.让学生快速阅读2d的乔迁聚会的邀请信,并要求学生用竞赛的形式用P69短文中的单词或短语完成短文,看谁做得又对又快。然后邀请最先完成的同学朗读短文并核对答案。
5.把学生分成两人为一小组,根据2e的9个问题。要求学生小组讨论为一位你最喜爱的即将离开的老师计划一个晚会。然后再全班交流,评出最具创意的晚会。
设计意图:让学生从总—分—总的结构理解短文大意,然后对短文中的知识点逐一记忆,最后回归课文对所学的词组或者是重点句子进行应用。这样在降低难度的基础上不仅锻炼了学生的语言综合运用能力,而且巩固了学生对目标语言的学习、识记和运用。有利于大部分学生的发展。
Step 4 完成教材3a-4的任务
【操作案例】
1.阅读3a中的邀请,并且回答问题。
2.写一封聚会或其他活动的邀请函。回复同伴的邀请,如果你拒绝邀请,请给出一个好的理由。内容包括聚会或活动的类型、时间、地点、客人是否需要带东西、客人是否应该回复邀请、怎样回复邀请等。
3.找一个搭档,一个人看Page 72中的日程表,另一个人看Page 81的日程表,寻找一个两个人都能去购物的时间。
设计意图:首先让学生进行仿写,然后让学生写出自己的邀请函和回复,呈现出了由句到文循序渐进的过程。在此过程中采用小组合作、自主学习模式,不仅锻炼了学生独立思考的能力,增强了学生的合作意识,而且巩固了学生对目标语言的学习、识记和运用。

知识点拨
▲辨析surprise,surprised与surprising
surprise是名词,意为“吃惊;惊喜”。常用短语:in surprise吃惊地,to one's surprise使某人感到吃惊的是。
surprised和surprising均为surprise的形容词形式,surprised的主语主要是指人的名词或代词,在句中作表语;surprising的主语是指物的名词或代词,在句中作定语或表语。
▲look forward to盼望;期待
to是介词,后面接名词或动名词。类似的短语还有:pay attention to注意到,be/get used to习惯于,prefer…to…喜欢……胜过……
▲辨析by,with与in
by强调用某种交通工具、方法和手段。
with强调用某种工具。
in强调用某种语言、材料。
▲辨析reply与answer
(1)两者均可用作动词,表示“回答”。answer常用作及物动词,reply常用作不及物动词,和to连用,即answer the question=reply to the question回答问题。
(2)两者均可用作名词,意为“对……的答复/回答”,后面均接介词to。
(3)answer是常用词,表示一方提出问题,另一方回答,多用于一般性应答;而reply则较正式,多指经过考虑后答复。
(4)answer还可表示接听(电话)或对门铃等声响作出反应,后面常接telephone,door,bell,doorbell等名词。

在本节课中,学生们大声地朗读短文,并且积极参与短文下面的问答。在与搭档看日程表找出共同去购物的时间过程中,同学们问答自如、准确,真正体现了学中用,用中学。但个别学生不能独立完成任务型阅读题,课后应多做相应的练习。
