Step1 Warming up Greet the whole class and ask one student to give a duty report. One student gives a duty report about Thanksgiving. Then ask Ss. to answer some questions. To improve Ss’courage and oral English by giving a daily duty report.
Step2 Leading in Ask Ss. to look at the pictures and watch a video. Talk about the question: 1.What do you know about the festival 2.How do people celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival It is easier for Ss. to talk about Mid-Autumn Festival.
Step3 Reading Pre-reading Ask the Ss, to predict: What story is the reading about According to the title and the picture, then answer the question. Learn to predict the passage.
Fast Reading Skimming Ask the Ss. To skim the passage about Mid-Autumn Festival and answer the questions. Answer the two questions. 1. How do people celebrate the Mid- Autumn Festival 2. What story is the reading about To improve the reading skill.
Scanning Ask the Ss. to scan Para.2 and answer the three questions. Answer the three questions according to Para2.1. Who gave Hou Yi the medicine What would happen if he took it 2. Who tried to steal the medicine 3. Who flew up to the moon at last
Careful Reading: Ask Ss. to read Para.2 and do the following tasks. 1,circle the main characters. 2,talk about the question: What happened to these people 3, fill in the blanks. And talk about true or false. 4, (3b) Read the passage again. Put the events in the correct order. 5, (3c) Without looking at the passage, try to complete the sentences with the correct words. 1.Read Para.2 and circle the main characters.And talk about the question: What happened to these people 2.Fill in the blanks. And talk about true or false. 3.Finish 3b, 3c. To improve the reading comprehension.
Post Reading 1,Finish the mind-map with key words. 2.Guide the Ss. to compare Thanksgiving Day with Mid-Autumn Festival 1.Finish the mind map with key words and try to retell the story of Chang’e 2.Fill in the chart and compare Thanksgiving Day with Mid-Autumn Festival 1.Learn about the story of Chang’e and improve the reading and speaking skills. 2.Learn about different festivals in different countries and cultures.
Step4 Exercises Do exercises. Can use the new words and expressions correctly.
Step5 Summary Guide the Ss.to summarize what we have learned in this class. Follow the teacher to summarize what we have learned in this class. To know about what we have learned in this class and We should be proud of our traditional culture.
Step6 Homework 1. Learn the new words and expressions by heart. 2. Retell the story of Chang’e 3. 教后反思 我在分析了本班学情,细心挖掘了教材的基础上。考虑学生的认知差异性,关注学生的情感,所以我设置的任务难度不大,环环相扣,层层推进。力争给有差异的学生设置合适的教学目标。通过小组合作学习,在提高阅读的的基础上,进一步有效激发学生的求知欲。 图片和MV地利用不仅成功地达到了引入话题,也让学生强化了对Mid-Autumn Festival的感受。在教学设计中,我也注重了对学生阅读策略的指导和培养,着力培养学生进行预测,获取文章大意的能力。通过skimming,scanning,careful reading等阅读策略的使用,让学生学会捕捉文章的关键信息,提高自己的阅读能力和技巧。在retelling环节中,我利用图片和思维导图有效地能让学生比较流畅地复述课文中的故事。利用表格清楚地进行了感恩节和中秋节的对比,从而进一步进行了文化自信的渗透。课程全场引入竞赛机制,以调动学生的课程专注度和参与度,激发学生学习兴趣和潜能,从而达到较完美的教学效果。
