In this period, students will learn some names of clubs. Such as, art club, music club, chess club, swimming club,etc.

Use the pictures, multimedia courseware and teaching materials.

Step I Lead-in
Enjoy a song: I’m a musician.
T: Do you want to be a musician S: ...
Can you play the guitar S:...
What can you do S:...
T: Ok. Now please show your talent and tell us what you can do.
Ask one of the students to come to the front and do the actions. Ask other students to guess what he or she can do.
Step 2 Presentation
T:look at the pictures on the screen. What are they doing Teach students the new vocabulary in this period.
Step 3 Pair work
Look at the pictures. Ask and answer like this:
A: Can you play the piano
B: Yes, I can/No, I can’t.
A:Do you want to join the music club
B: Yes, I do/No, I don’t.
(if the students’ answer is negative, the teacher can say, “This term we have a lot of clubs, what club do you want to join S: I want to join.....club.)
Step 4 Pair work
Let students ask and answer.
First, the teacher will give a model to the students:
T: what club do you want to join
S: I want to join the art club.
T:Can you draw
S: Yes, I can/No, I can’t.(but I can learn it from others.)
Step 5 To learn 1a
1.What can these people do! Match the activities with the people.
2. Then check the answers.
Step 6 To learn 1b
Listen and number the conversations.[1-3]
Step 7 Listen again and answer the following questions
In conversation 1, what club does the girl want to join?can she sing
In conversation 2, can the boy swim
In conversation 3, what club does the girl want to join Can she draw
Step 8 Pair work
To learn 1c
First give students a model on the screen like this:then practice in pairs.
A: I want to join the music club.
B: Can you sing
A: Yes, I can.
A: Can you play the guitar
B: No, I can’t, but I can learn it from others.
Step 9 Exercises
Translate the following phrases and sentences.
下国际象棋;讲英语;弹吉他;拉小提琴;敲鼓,游泳社团。
你会唱歌吗?是的,我会。
我不会弹吉他,但是我会拉小提琴。
你想加入什么社团?我想加入美术社团。
2.句型转换
Can he play tennis (做肯定回答)
I can play chess.(改为一般疑问句)
Mr. Green can play the guitar.(改为否定句)
Bill can swim well.(对划线部分提问)
They can play the drums.(对划线部分提问)

Ask students what we learned in this class.

课后反思:
本节课我通过欣赏一首歌曲《I want to be a musician》创设情境导入新课,Do you want to be a musician Can you sing Can you play the guitar 来激活课堂,激发学生学习兴趣;以多媒体展示的形式明确学习的目标,学习内容,采用学生为主、教师为辅的合作学习模式;在进行听力训练时,对听力材料加以拓展延伸,除完成1b的内容,又提出三个问题,让学生带着问题边听边讲,从中得到问题的答案,使学生的口语能力有所提高,与此同时,进一步强化了听力训练;通过pair work的操练,增强了学生实际运用语言的能力,使听说读写四方面能力能够很好的有机结合。但唯一遗憾的是,对学生的评价方式方法评价单一,只局限于口头表扬,没有采取小组竞争机制,使学生的潜能得到更进一步的激发,积极主动性未能完全充分调动,在今后的教育教学工作中,不断地创新和学习,使自己的教学水平达到新的高度。
