What is a Food Festival
A Food Festival is an event that features a variety of foods which are generally available for tasting or purchase. The food highlighted at one of these festivals may be a specific ingredient —such as a vegetable or meat, or a style of cooking. It can also focus on a specific cuisine in a region of the world. Many of these festivals also feature cooking demonstrations or cooking competitions. Many festivals are held outdoors in parks or on a street that is closed off to automobile traffic. Some events may be heid in auditoriums, convention centres, or hotei conference rooms.

5. 教师活动：介绍如何写事物介绍类说明文。
说明文是一种以说明为主要表达方式的文章体裁，用来客观地介绍事物或阐明事理。要写好事物介绍类说明文，应注意以下几点：
1.抓住事物特点
详细描述事物的本质特征，从而使读者对事物有全面、深刻的认识。写作时，要抓住事物的主要特征，说明的过程要讲究层次性和条理性。在写作中，以叙述的方式来描述；一般不需要发表个人的主张和见解，也不需要抒发个人的情感。时态以一般现在时为主，人称以第三人称为主。
2.注意说明顺序
说明文常用的写作顺序有以下三种：时间顺序、空间顺序和逻辑顺序。说明复杂的事物时常将这三种顺序结合起来使用。
3.巧用说明方法
写好事物介绍类说明文，不仅要抓特征、讲条理，还要巧妙地运用说明方法，这样才能把复杂的事物清楚、直观地呈现在读者面前，文章才会显得生动形象。
4.语言要准确
说明文要用简洁明了的语言来解说事物、阐明事理，从而给读者提供必要的信息。事物介绍类说明文是对事物进行客观介绍的文章，所以写作时要注意语言的准确性。

·Learning about the text type
An article about your favourite food is a piece of descriptive writing which can create a vivid picture in readers' minds through plenty of sensory details.
·Learning about the structure
When writing an article about your favourite food, you can follow the structure below:
> State clearly what your favourite food is.
> Mention your experiences of tasting it, especially for the first time.
> Describe the characteristics of the food, such as its appearance, smell, taste and way of cooking.
·Learning about the language
When you describe food, you can use adjectives to create an image of the food in the mind of the reader. Adjectives commonly used to describe food include smelly, bitter, sweet, salty, juicy, creamy, silky, smooth, soft, crisp, etc.
