Emotional objectives: Inspire students to realize that English can be fun for life and they should enjoy English. Help students to know some ways to enjoy English. Encourage students to enjoy English , and enjoy life.
Key points Students understand the reading material. Students know about English Week and some activities during English Week. Students improve reading skills and ability of reading for main ideas and details.
Difficult points Students learn how to think about the reasons for enjoying English and the ways to enjoy English.

Step 1: Pre-reading Ask questions related to the topic: Do you enjoy English Week Give your reasons. Do you know some activities during English Week Show pictures and ask what the activities are. Ask a question: English Week probably gives the students a chance to_______. And guide students to give the answers in complete sentences. Talk freely about the questions. Look at the pictures and tell the names of the activities. Think about what English Week benefits them and answer in complete sentences. Lead students to read the passage carefully and answer some questions. Ask students to do vocabulary exercises.
