1. Do you take your own bag when shopping and not ask for a plastic bag
你买东西的时候拿着自己的袋子而不要塑料袋吗？
注意：由when, while等引导的时间状语从句，当主句的主语与从句的主语相同且从句谓语动词含有 be 动词时，常省略从句的主语和 be 动词。
1)Tim enjoys listening to his MP4 player while (he is) waiting for the school bus.
Tim一边等校车，一边听MP4里的音乐。
2) While (you were) walking the dog, you were careless and it got loose and was hit by a car.
在遛狗时，你不小心让狗挣脱了绳子，结果狗被车撞了。
句中的 when shopping 实际上是 when you are shopping的省略，其中when是连词。

do with : 对付；处理

throw away: 扔掉、丢弃。

2) I threw those trousers away years ago.
多年前我就把那些裤子扔掉了。
1) The book is divided into six sections.
这本书分为六部分。
2) Lucy divided the cake in / into four.
露西把这块蛋糕分成了四块。
divide: 分开, 强调把整体划分为若干部分。divide…into… 把……分成……
注意:当divide 后只有数词, 而无“部分”、“组”、“队” 等词语时, 也可与介词in连用。
4. Although it takes energy to change things into something else, it is better than throwing things away or burning them.
虽然把一种东西变成另一种东西也会消耗能源，但是也比把它们扔掉或烧掉好。
change…into… 把……变成……
1) You cannot change iron into gold.
你无法把铁变成金子。

她魔杖一挥，把青蛙变成了英俊的王子。
