Step 1:Warming-up Have students think about what an educational exchange is . Students try to think about the question. Lead in the topic and make the students’ clear about the topic.
Step 2:Pre-reading Ask students to skim the picture, the introduction, and the title and answer 4 questions. Students skim the picture, the introduction, and the title and answer 4 questions. Have students know the background information of the text.
Step 3:While-reading scan and matchAsk students to scan the whole passage and find out some useful expressions, learn them by doing a matching exercise. 2. listen and readAsk students to have detailed reading of the article by filling a table. 3. Read and thinkAsk students to have autonomous learning and then find information behind the lines &beyond the lines 1. Students scan the passage to find useful expressions.2. Step 4:Post-reading 1.Think and watch Ask students to think about the problems that the exchange students may meet and watch a video to write about the problems the students met and give solutions in groups and share with others.2.Evaluate and adviseAsk students to discuss in groups to evaluate the solutions and give advice on the problems 1.Students work in groups to talk about the problems that the exchange students may meet and the problems the students in the video mentioned. 2.Write down the commonest problems and solutions, then share. Step 5:Self-assessment Lead students to make a self-assessment. Students self-reflect what they have learnt in today’s class. Review what they have learnt today and summarize the class.
Step 6:Homework 1. Write down the possible problems, solutions and post them to the students in Beijing.2. Do some online reading exercises about educational exchanges.
