Learning Objectives: By the end of the class, students will be able to analyze the five elements of a writing topic; draft the composition with a clear structure; 3. revise their composition from three criteria.

Step 1: Lead-in Have students remember what they have learned in Reading and fill in a form about it. Students fill in the form. Lead in the writing topic and show the simple structure of a writing.
Step 2: Topic-analysis Ask students to skim the writing topic and guide them to find five elements. Students skim the topic and find the text type, background, characters, tense and main points Have students know how to analyze a writing topic carefully before starting to write.
Step 3: Drafting Whole structure Have students know the structure of a good writing. 2. Paragraphs Ask students to find how to make a good and complete paragraph. 3. Sentences Ask students to put main points into complete sentences. 1. Students skim the structure to find out what a title,opening paragraph,body,ending are. 2. Students analyze the relationship between the topic sentence and supporting sentences. 3. Students work in groups to brainstorm the main points and choose what they want for writing. 1. Help students to understand the structure of a good writing. 2. Guide students to find the inner relationship between the topic sentence and supporting sentences. Enable them to write logically. 3. Encourage students to cooperate with each and have autonomous learning. Get students ready for the writing task.
Step 4: Revising 1. Share and show Share three criteria for fluent writing and show some examples. 2.Evaluate and advise Ask students to write in limited time and evaluate the writing later. Give advice to students in different levels. 3.Sample writing Show students two sample writings. Students learn about three criteria: accuracy, variety and coherence to make their articles fluent and well-organized. Students write and evaluate their own writing with the strategies and criteria. Students read two sample writings and make a comparison. Learn how to do self-check. Encourage students to put what they have learned into practice and develop their ability of evaluating and cooperating. 3.Review what they have learnt today and summarize what a good composition should be.
