一、教材分析
本单元中心话题是“神秘事件”,能根据相关信息对事物做推断,主要语法是情态动词might could must can’t表示推测的用法。情态动词是一种重要的词法,只有掌握好它,才能更好地进行交际和阅读。本节是本单元的第一节,本节的重点是使学生能运用情态动词might could must can’t对物品所属进行推测,通过学习用相关信息对物主的推测来提高学生的逻辑思维能力和推断能力。难点是区分belong to 和名词所有格表所属关系的运用。利用反复操练的形式来突难教学难点。
Ⅰ.Teaching aims

Step 1 Warming up
Show some pictures about school things to Ss .Answer some questions.

Let students think over the differences between “be s b ’s” and “belong to s b”.
Step 2 Listening
1b Listen and match each person with a thing and a reason.
2a Bob and Anna found a schoolbag at the park. Listen and write down the things in the schoolbag.
2b Listen again. Fill in the blanks.
Step 3 Pair work
1c Practice the conversation in the picture above. Then make conversations using the information in 1b.
Role-play the conversation.
2c Make conversations using the information in 2a and 2b.

Step 4 Read and act
2d Ask students to read the conversation in 2d first by themselves. Listen to the tape and repeat after it.

Language points
1.It must be Carla’s.它一定是卡拉的。(教材第57页)
此处must表肯定推测,意为“一定,肯定”,通常与be连用,这种用法只用于肯定句中。
There must be something wrong with the computer.这台电脑一定是出了什么毛病。
must表示“必须”,可用于肯定句、否定句或疑问句;用于否定句中时,mustn’t的意思是“一定不要,禁止”。
We must find a good way to learn English well.我们必须找到一个学好英语的好方法。
You mustn’t play soccer in the square.你们一定不能在广场上踢足球。

—Yes, you must.(No, you needn’t. /No, you don’t have to.)是的,你必须(不,你不必)。
2.He was the only little kid at the picnic.他是野餐中唯一的小孩。(教材第57页)
only此处用作形容词,意为“唯一的,仅有的”,用来修饰名词。
She is the only girl in her group.她是组里唯一的女孩。
picnic名词,意为“野餐”。常构成短语:go for a picnic去野餐;at the picnic在野餐中;have a picnic野餐。
We went to the beach for a picnic.我们去沙滩野餐了。
3.The hair band might belong to Linda.这条发带可能属于琳达。(教材第58页)
belong to...意为“属于……”,belong此处作不及物动词,to为介词,后接名词或人称代词的宾格形式,不能接名词性物主代词或名词所有格。
That book belongs to me.那本书属于我。
These clothes must belong to Tom.=These clothes must be Tom’s.这些衣服一定是汤姆的。
(1)belong to不能用于进行时态。
(2)belong to不能用于被动语态。
(3)belong to 常与名词性物主代词或名词所有格进行句型转换。
It must belong to Carla.=It must be Carla’s.它一定是卡拉的。
4.I’ll call them now to check if anybody has it.我现在就打电话去查一下是否有人捡到它。(教材第58页)
(1)anybody/anyone意为“有人”(用于否定及疑问句中,也可用于条件状语从句中),此句中anybody用于由一般疑问句转换的宾语从句中。
(2)anybody/anyone意为“任何人”。用于各种句式中。
5.I think somebody must have picked it up.我想有人一定捡到它了。(教材第58页)
(1)情态动词+have+动词的过去分词,表示过去一定/可能/不可能发生的动作。
(2)pick it up意为“把它拾起”。it是代词作宾语,放在up之前。

教学反思:
本节课教学过程自然、紧凑,学生学习氛围活跃,成功之处在于巧妙运用游戏激起学习兴趣,充分发挥了主体作用,教学重难点也在教师的引导和实践中被攻破,使学生在轻松愉快的环境中学到知识和初步运用语言。
在进行听说读写综合技能课之前,一定要做到老师和学生的课前准备,即要未雨绸缪;再有就是要根据知识目标和学生需要,适当拓展教学内容,进行有主有次、有轻有重的设计。英语学习有时真的像语文学习,需要大量的阅读与积累。
看到学生兴趣盎然地讨论,交流,我真的觉得自己平时做的太少了,公开课的精心准备让我发掘出了许多除了考试之外的东西。作为一名英语教师,学生的客观情况和教学内容的特点让我们不能就教材而教教材,而是要拓展教材,适当的整合教材。这就要求我们的教师不断学习,注意时时提高自己,广泛涉猎,不断创新。
让我们每节课不妨都写好“剧本”,做好“编导”,把英语课的听、说、读、写上得生动、活泼、有内容且贴近学生的实际!
