Analysis of Teaching Contents This module is based on the topic of “Leisure time” and in this unit, it introduces television programmes and the entertainment industry.The reading passage is a story which happened at the studio. It’s about a girl who took place of one of the contestants by accident. She took part in a quiz show and won the big prize at last. The article includes rich character language and detailed description of the gestures and movements, so it has great reference value for students to read.

Learning objectives (1 min) Let Ss know what they can learn in this lesson. Be aware of the language and ability goals they should achieve at the end of the lesson. Let Ss know their learning objectives and make joint efforts with the teacher to achieve the objectives.
Lead in(2 mins) Play a video about different types of TV programmes. Help Ss know the names of them. Watch the video and know the names of different types of TV programmes. Let Ss get familiar with the topic and understand the new words by watching the video.
Warming-up(1 min) Ask Ss to match the new words and the characters in the picture. Look at the picture and write the words in the correct boxes. ( Part A on P66 ) Let Ss understand the new words by looking at the picture, and get familiar with the characters in the story.
Pre-reading(1 min) Ask Ss to look at the picture and the title of the article, then answer the questions. Answer the questions raised by the teacher. Let Ss have a preliminary understanding of the story.
While-reading(8 mins) Tell the three elements of the story: setting, character and plot.Let students read the article and tell the characters in the story.Guide Ss to read the article again and order the sentences based on the plot, at the same time help Ss review the story mountain (opening, rising action, turning point, falling action and ending).4.
