Teaching Background Analysis
Analysis of Teaching Materials Adverbial clauses of concession with although and though are both used in Reading and More practice. For example: Although Angela was not prepared, she seemed relaxed and did really well. Though the questions were getting more and more difficult, Angela kept getting them right. Although it was only a model, it looked very real. When two ideas have contrast in them, we use although and though to connect these two ideas and form an adverbial clause. This lesson will base on these sentences and supplemental material to focus on when to use although and though, how to use although and though and learn about even though and even if.
Analysis of Students Students have learnt other kinds of adverbial clauses before. For example, they learnt Adverbial clauses of reasons in Grade 8. They have basic ideas about the adverbial clauses. So it is easier for them to master and apply the adverbial clauses of concession with although and though.
