2 1st-major element Leading Word (that-clauses) *Provide students examples of that-clauses. *Guide students to summarize the basic structure of that-clauses. *List cases in which leading word “that” can be omitted. *Provide more verb choices before that-clauses. *Provide consolidation exercise of making up sentences with that-clauses. *Look at the sentences with that-clauses. *Summarize the basic structure of making that-clauses under teacher’s guide. *Write down the cases in which leading word “that” can be omitted. *Learn more verb choices. *Do the exercises individually and check the answers later with the teacher. *Summarize the rule of writing that-clauses through examples by students themselves. *Deepen the understanding of the rule by doing more exercises.
