An Experiment about a Balloon
rubber(橡胶). When the balloon is pierced, the air
leaving the balloon forms a kind of force. Rubber is
so thin that it can’t support(支撑) such force. So
the balloon breaks quickly with a loud bang. But
the glue is different. It’s strong enough to support
the force of the air.

What is happening
As the candle burns, it uses up oxygen in the air. When the candle stops burning, it has used up all the oxygen in the air. The water inside the jar then rises. How far does the water rise There is about one-fifth oxygen in the air, so the water rises and fills about one-fifth of the jar.
Keep the candle burning! 让蜡烛燃烧!
