教材分析 本模块主要围绕“生活方式”展开话题；本课从“英国生活方式”的角度展开，呈现了英国的文化习俗。本节课是一节阅读课，源于外研版《英语》教材八年级上册Module11 Unit2，课文标题为My experiences in England。本节课以主人公王辉在英国的经历为线索，从四个方面介绍了英国的生活方式：打招呼、下午茶、传统食物和公交车站等车习惯，同时还体现了王辉面对文化差异的感受。本课教学内容在承接Unit1有关生活方式的话题基础上，促进学生对英国文化习俗的了解，让学生增强文化意识，学会尊重其他国家的传统习俗和生活方式。本节课的语法项目是情态动词must、can及它们的否定形式，意在训练学生在阅读的基础上学会用情态动词表达英国及中国的风俗习惯，在语境中加深对它们的用法及表意功能的理解。
学情分析 学生有较强的好奇心和学习热情，对文化的话题非常感兴趣，对中西方文化差异有一定的认识和积累。通过Unit1的学习，学生对一些常见的中西方习俗有了粗略的了解，但是学生渴望了解更多的与生活相关的西方的文化习俗，就这一点来说，学生有较强的学习内驱力。但是，学生对西方文化习俗的理解不够深入，对中西方不同文化进行对比的意识还比较薄弱，运用所学语言去进行跨文化交际的能力有待提高，这正好构成了本节课“教”和“学”的需求。
学习目标 通过本课时学习，学生能够：1.在语境中理解并运这些词汇：stay, experience, for the first time, shoulder等，使用情态动词must/mustn’t, can/can’t, need/needn’t 等谈论某地的风俗习惯或社会行为。2.读懂介绍英国生活方式的文章，找出段落主旨大意并获取关于greeting people、having afternoon tea、eating traditional food及waiting at the bus stop的具体信息。 3.了解并尊重其它国家的传统习俗和生活方式，增强跨文化意识。
评价任务 评价标准
