教材 分析 本节课是八年级上册第十一模块第一单元，是一节听说课。本单元的话题是“社会行为与习俗”，本课呈现了同学们赠送玲玲生日礼物的场景。玲玲和贝蒂，托尼的国籍不同，接受礼物的方式和打开礼物的时间也不同，由此大家展开了对各国风俗习惯的讨论。本课的重点是让学生掌握在不同的国家有不同的文化习俗与社会行为。难点是用must和mustn’t等情态动词讨论在不同的场景中能够做什么，不能做什么。我们可以通过听读课文以及小组合作讨论来解决这一重难点。
学情 分析 学生们在七年级已经学习了在生日时候，如何选择礼物。但是对于收到礼物时应该什么时间打开，怎么接受礼物等习俗以及与西方的社会行为有什么区别，学生们没有了解。本节课通过听说课文以及小组合作讨论来突破这一重点。
学习 目标 通过本课时学习，学生能够： 1.借助图片，结合听力情境，正确听说读写chess、chopstick、video、gift、immediately、surprise、difference、accept、tradition、for example、month、serious等12个核心词汇。 2.通过泛听、精听语段，了解文章大意并记录有关中西方接受礼物的对话。 3.细读对话，获取对话细节信息并借助提示简述对话内容。
评价任务 评价标准
1.师生对话互动生日礼物，图片展示读词，对话交流（指向目标1） 准确猜出并能运用简单句式回答教师的问题；根据图片准确迅速读词
2.听后选择、判断对错（指向目标1、2） 认真听文段，准确填写
