where引导的特殊疑问句
(1) 用法。
“Where is +单数名词 ”或“Where are +复数名词 ”
可以用于询问人或物所在的位置。
Where is my eraser 我的橡皮在哪里
Where are the keys 钥匙在哪里
(2) 答语。
① 用It’s. . . (对应Where is. . . ) 或They’re. . . (对应Where are. . . ) 作答。
— Where is my eraser 我的橡皮在哪里？
— It’s on the desk. 它在书桌上。
— Where are the keys 钥匙在哪里？
— They are under the bed. 它们在床底下。
② 直接说出物品所在地点， 省略it’s或they’re。
— Where’s the clock 时钟在哪里？
— On the wall. 在墙上。
③ 如果对方不知道某人或某物在哪里, 可以说
“Sorry, I don’t know. ”。
— Where is the video tape 录像带在哪里？

1. tape player n. 录音机
【自主归纳】
(1)这是由两个名词(tape磁带，player播放器)组成的短语。其中tape作定语，修饰名词player。
(2) 由两个名词组成的短语，变复数时通常把第二个名词变成复数，第一个名词不变。
* an alarm clock two alarm clocks
(3) 两个名词组成的短语变复数时也有一些特殊的变法。
两个名词同时变成复数。
* a man teacher → two men teachers
a woman doctor → two women doctors
第一个名词永远用复数，第二个名词可单数可复数。
* a sports meet → two sports meets
