Talk about and exchange ideas about their favorite subjects and giving reasons with new words and sentences.
Listen and get specific information of the subjects and write down the reasons with description words.
Learning strategies: Be effective in pairwork and groupwork. Enjoy exchanging ideas through English about their preferences and giving reasons.
Affective attitudes: Realize the importance of team-work. Be cooperative!

Solution: Authentic videos and pictures are adopted to be impressive. New words and sentences are repeated in different activities, including pairwork and guessing game, and etc.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1: Greeting and free talk (2min)
Good morning, boys and girls. What's the date today (It's December 17th) Do you like December Do you like... What's your favourite month
Step 2: Review and lead-in (7min)
Teach and explain " favorite"(I like...and I like...,but I like ...best)What about subjects Do you know any subjects, e.g. English is a subject, Chinese is a subject. Do you know more
Present the new words one by one by asking"What subjects do we learn at school What other subjects do you know "
Step 3: Quick eyes
T: Great! Read and repeat new words after the teacher. Then get students to play the game,explain the rule-quick eyes,(T show the picture of subjects quickly,Ss who knows stand up and say out immediately, in this way to see how many Ss grasp the new words)
Step 4:Let's go further -Matching(7min)
Now we will test if you really can help each other in English study. First do 1a and check with your partners, then help each other read and spell the new words. If you two remember all the new words, put up your hands.

Step5: Listening
Besides, Anna and Linda are talking about their favourite subjects. Now listen to 1b and circle the subjects you hear. If you can do it rightly, you do master new words thoroughly. Listen for two or three times, then check.
Step 6 :Pair work

Show the pictures let students to talk about others' favorite subjects.
Step7 Make a survey(10min)
We should study and help other classmates besides our partners. So we have to know more about them, now have a group of four and ask about each one about their favourite subjects and write down their reasons. Later I will ask some to give us a report. Please ask as follows and fill in the table:
