冠词就是用在名词前，
表示“个、一个”，或者表示“这个、那个”的词。
定义：

零冠词
在某些情况下，名词前的冠词可以省略；也有些情况下名词前不用冠词。
定冠词 the
特指的人或事物，表示“这个、那个”。
不定冠词（a, an）
用于非特指的人或事物，表示“个、一个”。

2-1 The indefinite articles
不定冠词，仅用在单数可数名词前面，表示“一”的意义。a用在以辅音（指辅音音素）开头的词前， an用在以元音（指元素音素）开头的词前。
an, a
①an后面的单词的读音必须是以元音音素开头--即它的音标的第一个音素是元音，而不是说它是以元音字母开头。
②它必须是个可数名词的单数：
一个小时 hour 一只桔子 orange
一位工程师 engineer 一位老人 old man
注：使用an时，条件是：
（1）表明一类人或事物区别于它类。

（2） 用来表示数量“—”的意思。

（3）用于初次提某人或某物
She is reading English book.
（4）在计量词前表示“每一”
