Making a poster about a painter
◆ 内容分析
　　本板块围绕单元话题要求我们基于在前面板块中所学的语言和文化知识，通过小组合作等方式，就不同文化背景、不同时代的画家进行探究并制作成海报。我们先以比较熟悉的画家作为例子，了解可以从哪些方面对其进行探究。在班级中先交流；再通过小组讨论，确定要选择哪位画家做探究；接下来决定子话题；然后分头收集信息，并共同完成海报；最后以小组为单位，在全班展示。
◆ 教学目标
　By the end of this section, we will be able to:
1. research a painter through cooperation and exploration;
2. use group work to make and present a poster;
3. evaluate and comment on each other’s poster.
（一） 准备
A. As a class, discuss painters from different cultures and time periods who represent various artistic styles. Then in groups, choose a painter to research. P41
Discuss and choose your favourite painter by answering the following
questions.
(1) Which painter would your group like to research
Vincent van Gogh.
(2) Why do you want to research this painter
We believe that Vincent van Gogh is worth researching for the great talent and achievements he is now known for, despite the miserable life he endured.
B. As a group, research your chosen painter. Use the ideas below to help you.

The site includes high-resolution [ rez lu n](高清晰度的；高分辨率的) pictures of art exhibits. Visit this site and take a virtual tour to learn more about the museum and the artworks in it.
The French Impressionists (1860–1900) is a book that covers interesting facts about Impressionism and important Impressionist painters. It not only describes the beginning of the movement that produced some of the world’s most famous painters, but also provides detailed analyses of artists’ techniques and pictures of selected paintings.
