一、序数词
1. 定义:
表示事物的顺序的数词叫序数词。它的作用相当于名词或形容词,可作主语、宾语、定语或表语。
2. 构成:
基数词要变为序数词是有规律可循的,其方法及具体示例如下:

1~19,一般在基数词后加-th
20~90之间的整十的序数词是把对应的基数词末尾的y变为ie,再加-th

序数词的缩写
序数词都有缩写形式:在阿拉伯数字后加该序数词的最后两个字母。示例如下:
first → 1st second → 2nd
third → 3rd fifth → 5th
thirty-eighth → 38th

序数词的用法
(1) 序数词前一般要加定冠词the,尤其是单独使用时;表日期时,the可以省略;与不定冠词a/an连用时,表示“又一;再一”。
1. 这是第三个学生。
This is the third student.
2. 加油。再试一次!

(2) 序数词作名词的定语,一般前面要加the,但如果
名词前有形容词性物主代词、名词所有格或指示代
词等限定词时,则不用the。
例:这是你第二条红色的裙子.

二、名词所有格
英语中,用来表示所属关系的语法形式叫作名词所有格,它有“'s所有格”“of 所有格”和双重所有格三种形式。
(1) 构成
①一般情况下,在单数名词后加“’s”。

② 以-s结尾的复数名词加“’”,不以-s结尾的复数 名词加“’s”。

③ 同一事物为多人共有时,只把最后一个名词变所有格;多个事物为多人各自所有时,每个名词都要变所有格。

(2)用法
① 表示人或其他有生命的物体的名词的所属关系,可用’s所有格。
例:这是辛迪的外套。 This is Cindy’s coat.
② 表示时间、距离、价格时,可用’s所有格。
例:工作十小时后,我非常累。
After ten hours’ work, I’m very tired.

③表示住所、商店或办公场所等时,’s所有格后通常不出现它所修饰的名词。

(2) 用法:多用于表示无生命的事物的名词的所属关系。
