1.Teaching content analysis
This unit is language in use of Module 7 Unit 3, Grade9. The topic of this module is great books and the language learning goal is to use passive voice of simple present tense to describe great books. The learning material can be mainly divided into two parts. The first part aims to let students use some useful expressions of passive voice of simple present tense to describe some great books. The second part is to let students use passive voice of simple present tense to describe their favourite great books from different aspects( the name, the writer, the main characters,the main story, your favourite part,evaluation and lesson).
2.Analysis of students
Students from Class11 Grade 9 are intermediate English learners. Most of them are interested in learning English, but they are weak in English grammar and speaking. Besides, they like studying alone instead of cooperative learning, which may undermine their ability to discuss, express and share. Therefore, more grammar and speaking practice will be given to students in this lesson, and many interesting group tasks will be added to this lesson to promote students’ interest in cooperative learning.
3.Teaching aims
Knowledge aim:Students are able to know some great writers and books, and they can describe their favourite great books. Ability aim:Students are able to use passive voice of simple present tense correctly. Emotional aim: Students are able to learn something about life from great books.

Difficult teaching points: the form and usage of passive voice of simple present tense.
5.Teaching method
Task-based teaching approach is adopted in this lesson to develop students grammar and speaking competence.In addition, group-based learning method is employed to cultivate students’ cooperative learning ability.
