教学设计
教材中本课主要内容分为两个部分，即阅读和写作。
阅读部分主要是通过另一个角度讲述了艺术形式，即我国唐代著名画家韩干的故事。本篇文章告诉我们，应该保持对事物本身事实的探索和追求，作为画家不仅要勾勒出物体的本身，还要画出物体内在的灵魂。
在写作部分中，学生将先读到一篇关于介绍艺术品的文章，然后引导学生写一篇完整艺术品的介绍。
语言技能目标
学生能够借助关键词，在理解文章大意的基础上，找出段落主题句，完成读前、读后问题；
用所学的词汇和语言的对课文进行复述；
能够读懂细节信息并能理解阅读中生词含义。
语言知识目标
能够正确运用一下单词和短语: magnificent, bare, hoof, wine, dirt, sponsor, emperor, fond, be fond of, frequent, majesty, gallop, vase, mostly, shade等。
能够理解文章中长难句并准确翻译。
文化意识目标
了解关于艺术家伟大故事的意义；
了解人们对艺术家伟大故事的理解和态度。
情感态度目标
正确认识艺术家伟大故事的意义，以及如何在日常生活中如何处理看这些伟大故事，以及自己是否能够从这些艺术家伟大故事的背后学到匠人精神。
理解文章逻辑关系及架构，理解文章写作意图；
引导学生如何对阅读材料进行总结归纳；
引导学生谈论阅读艺术家伟大故事的收获与感想。

Step-1 Reading Activity-1 Pre-reading Tick the words that you would use to describe horses. Add any more you can think pare your choices with the rest of the class and share what you know about horses. Activity-2 While-reading Read the passage and find out what it is about. Activity-3 Deep-reading Complete the diagram with information from the passage. Think and share Activity-4 Post-reading Learning to learn. Work in groups. Imagine you are a tour guide in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Use the information in last activity to talk about the lift and work of Han Gan. 活动1：通过课前提问，引发学生思考，进而更好理解本节阅读材料。 活动2：引导学生泛读本篇文章。 活动3：通过读后练习，让学生对文章结构更加清晰，从而更透彻理解文章。 活动4：通过课后表达练习，进一步引导学生理解艺术家伟大故事的意义，从而应用到实际生活学习中，真正做到学以致用。 15分钟
Step-2 Writing Activity-1 Pre-writing Read the museum introduction to the painting and answer the questions. Activity-2 While-writing 1) Based on the last step, complete the boxes with the information in Activity 5 on Page 47. Do further research if necessary. Introduction Main body Conclusion Now write an article about the painting Sunflowers. Activity-3 Post-writing Work in pairs. Step-3 Language points 1. Its artist, Han Gan, is known for his skill in capturing not only the physical features of the animal, but also its inner spirit and strength. [句式分析] 词组“not only...but also...”译为“不仅…而且…”，是并列连词。若其并列连接两个主语，注意谓语动词是否单三依照“就近原则”，即取决于but also后之后的主语。 [尝试翻译] 它的（作品）的作者是韩干。韩干不仅擅长刻画物体外部轮廓，还善于抓住物体内部的精神和力量，因而闻名大众。 2. The more time he spent observing these animals, the more his understanding of them grew. [句式分析] 本句句型“the+比较级，the+比较级”，可译为“越…越…”，也可根据语境适当调整翻译。 [尝试翻译] 他（韩干）观察动物的时间越长，就对它们的了解越多。 10分钟
Step-4 Homework - Recommend a local artist and complete the form with information about him/her. - Work in groups. Talk about your recommended artist and vote for the most interesting. Use the information in last activity and the expressions in the box to help you. - Present your chosen artist to the class. Vote for the best “Neighbourhood Artist”.
