Unit 3 Language in use
Step 1 Revision
1.Ask some students to introduce themselves to the whole class.
2.Ask the students to talk about the pictures in Activity 1.
Step 2 Teaching grammar
1.Be的一般现在时的各种形式:
(1)肯定句:主语+be(am, is, are)+其他.
(2)否定句:主语+be+not+其他.
(3)一般疑问句:Be+主语+其他.
(4)特殊疑问句:特殊疑问词+一般疑问句?
2.动词be的常用结构:
(1)be+形容词
I am very happy. 我很幸福。
He is very kind. 他非常和善。
(2)be+名词
Mr Wang is our English teacher.王先生是我们的英语老师。
They are our good friends. 他们是我们的好朋友。
(3)be+介词短语
She is at home. 她在家里。
Are you from America 你来自美国吗?
The book is on the desk.书在课桌上。
(4)be+副词
Class is over.下课了。
Step 3 Speaking
Ask the students to introduce their friends in groups. For example:
This is Sam. He is twelve. He's from England. He's in Class 1.
Step 4 Practice
1.Let the students do Activities 2-4 by themselves and check the answers in groups.
2.Ask one group to report their answers.
Step 5 Around the world
1.Tell the students to read the information and learn about the difference between Chinese names and English names.
2.Ask several students to make a report.
Most English people have three names: a first name, a middle name and the family name. The first name and the middle name are given names. Their family name comes last, for example Jim Allan Green. Green is the family name. Jim is the first name. Allan is the middle name. Chinese names are different. Chinese people put their family names before their given names.
Step 6 Presentation
Get the students to ask and answer questions with a partner to introduce themselves. Then choose one pair to perform in front of the whole class.
Step 7 Sum up
Ask the students to talk about what they have learned in this lesson, then sum up the use of be and report it.
Step 8 Homework
在网上或图书馆查找资料,用英语向全班同学介绍你最喜爱的明星或最尊敬的人。
A Friend in Need Is a Friend Indeed
Jack and Ben are good friends. One day, they run a forest together. When they go deep into the forest, suddenly they hear a sound.
“What's that The sound is so terrible.” Ben says.
“Oh! Bear! Look! A bear!” Jack says and climbs quickly on a tall tree.
Ben tries to climb on the tree. But he can't. “What can I do Help me please! ” Ben says to Jack. But Jack does nothing.
The bear is coming. Ben lies down quickly and pretends to die.
The bear looks at Ben and walks around him. Ben holds his breath. The bear smells Ben and thinks he's dying, and then the bear goes away.
When Jack sees the bear going far, he slides down from the tree and wakes Ben. “What did the bear whisper to you?” Jack asks Ben curiously.
“Why didn't you help me Haven't you heard the sentence: A friend in need is a friend indeed?” Ben shouted.
患难见真情
杰克和本是好朋友。一天,他俩结伴去森林探险。当他们走进森林深处时,突然听到一个声音。
“那是什么?这声音真恐怖。”本说。
“啊!是熊!快看!一只熊!”杰克边说边迅速地爬到一棵大树上。
本试着爬上树,可是他做不到。“我怎么办啊?快帮帮我!”本朝杰克喊道。可是杰克什么也没有做。
熊来了。本快速躺在地上装死。
熊看看本,绕着他走了几圈。本屏住呼吸。熊闻了闻本,以为他死了,然后就走开了。
杰克看到熊走远了,才滑下树来,叫醒本。“熊刚才跟你说什么了?”杰克好奇地问本。
“你刚才为什么不帮我?难道你没有听过‘患难见真情’这句话吗?”本大声喊道。
