Teaching procedures:
Step1:Lead in
Have a free talk
T: Did you have a good sleep last night
Do you feel stressed at times
What will you do when you feel stressed
S: I can listen to music/go climbing/read books/watch comedies ......
Then play a short video for them to make them relaxed.
Step2: Presentation
1, T: What’s the name of it
Ss:Growing pains.
T:Have you watched it
S:Yes/No.
2,Tom hasn’t watched it, so he is asking Millie some basic questions.
Choose the correct answers to the questions.
Tom: Hello, Millie! What’re you doing
Millie: I’m watching a drama series called Growing Pains. Have you watched it
Tom: No. What’s it about

If a question begins with when, then the answer will be a time or a date.If a question begins with why,then the answer will give a reason ,often beginning with because.If a question begins with where, then the answer will be a place.
4,Explain “predicting”:
To predict is to guess what comes next. It helps us understand what kinds of books or articles we are reading, and where we might find information.
Step3: predict the contents from title
1,Teacher told the students that we can also predict the points according to the titles.
2,Millie is reading an article called “The trouble with teenagers”, .Predict the points that will be talked about in the article and tick the correct boxes.

Step4:Use the headings to predict the main idea of each part.
1,We can often predict the content from the title,We can also use the headings in an article to predict the main idea of each part.
2,Give them a title: Why do you have few friends
Predict what the title would talk about .Write your thoughts on your paper.
Poissible reasons:
You complain a lot
You are selfish
You don't care about your friends
You get jealous
You don't get out enough
Make up your article
3,According to the headings ,write your own thoughts on a piece of paper,you can talk about it with your partner.Help the writer complete his article.
4,After finishing it ,share your ideas in your group.then look at the other side of the paper to see if which student write the most similar with the original article.Ask several students to read the original article in turns.
