Teaching objectives
1.To let students have the chance to read more about traditional skills.
2.To let students practice some reading skills like guessing, finding information from a text and grasp the main idea of a passage.
Teaching important and difficult point
To enlarge students’ vocabulary and let them make dialogues about what they have learnt in the text.
Teaching procedures
Before reading
1.Ask students some questions about tea and lead to the topic: some facts of tea.
2.Deal with some new words that may make the understanding of the text difficult.
While reading
1.Ask students to read the text quickly and ask them to tell the main idea of the text.
2.Ask students to read the first paragraph and decide whether the following sentences are true or false.
Tea is the most popular drink in the world. T / F
Black tea can keep fresh for a long time. T / F
Black tea first came to China during the Ming Dynasty. T / F
Herbal tea is a kind of real tea. T / F
Tea leaves contain caffeine. T / F
3.Find the words in Column A in the passage and match them with the meanings in Column B.
4.Read the passage again. Then answer the following questions.
Post reading
1.Ask students if they know how many types of tea there are in China. If they do, ask them to list the name of them.
2.Ask students to make a dialogue to practice what they have learned from the text.
Assignments
Read the text three times.

一、Step one: Free talk
Talk about some tradition skills in China.
1.Show a video about the fisherman used the cormorants to catch fish.
2.To arouse the interest and lead them to get into the topic of this unit.
二、Step two: Fast reading
1.Read the text quickly and answer the questions.
2.Show the question:
a.How old is Wang Damin
b.What is a cormorant like
c.How long can a cormorant stay under water
d.What did Wang Damin tie a piece of grass around the cormorants.
3.Let the students get the general idea of the text.
三、Step three: While-reading. Reading comprehension.
四、Step four: Discussion
1.Read the text in details and finish the blank filling exercise in a sheet, then check the answers, after that, try to design questions according to the text and ask your classmates to answer it.
2.Talk in group: How do we keep the traditional skills Necks

3.Hand out the sheet and design the blank according to the important information. Then check the answers with students.
