Teaching objectives
1.Help the students to understand the general meaning of the reading material.
2.Help Ss to master some language points about the reading material.

Let Ss know some information of.our memory and know the way to improve our memory.
Teaching procedures
Pre-task preparation
Ask students some questions to test how much they know about human brain.
Play a game: Ask students to read the words in the list at normal speed and then ask them to write down as many words as they can remember. Ask them how they remember these words.
Ask them what they always remember and what they forget easily.
While-task procedures
1.Read the introduction and answer the questions.
2.Read the title, the introduction, the pictures and the first sentences of each article and decide whether the following statements are true or false.
3.Find the topic sentence in each article of the feature.
4.Read Arthur’s article again and complete the following tables with proper information.
5.Read Joyce’s article again and put the following sentences in the correct order.
6.Read Pansy’s article again and complete the following sentences with proper words.
7.Read Tony’s article again and complete the facts about some amazing people who have got super memory.
8.Read Millie’s article again and complete the table with proper information.
Post-reading activities
1.Ask students to raise some questions according to the text and others to answer them.
2.Work in groups of four to six. Think of more ways of improving our memory. Then write a short report based on your discussion and tell your classmates about it.
