宾语从句的定义
在复合句中用作宾语的从句叫宾语从句。引导宾语从句常见关联词有that、 if、whether 等。
宾语从句的引导词
(一)that 引导的宾语从句
当宾语从句是陈述句时,常接that引导的宾语从句。that在句中只起连接作用,没有含义, 也不在句中充当任何成分,在口语中常省略。
例: He says (that) he won’t be free until tomorrow.
他说他直到明天才会有空。
当主句的主语是第一人称(I,we),且谓语动词是think、guess、 believe、suppose等时,如果宾语从句要表达否定意思,则一般将否定转移到主句上来,即“否定前移”。
例 I don’t think the girl can finish the work alone.
我认为这个女孩不能独自完成工作。
(二)if/whether 引导的宾语从句
if和whether都意为“是否”,多引导由一般疑问句或选择疑问句转化而来的从句,在从句中不充当句子成分,但不能省略。
例: Could you tell us if/whether it snows in winter in Australia 你能告诉我们澳大利亚冬天是否下雪吗?
用于to do 不定式之前,介词之后或与or not连用时,用whether而不用if。
例:I don't know whether he likes the movie or not.
我不知道他是否喜欢这部电影。
无论主句是陈述句还是疑问句,宾语从句都要用陈述语序,即主语+谓语。
例:1.They say that they will have a three-day holiday next week.他们说下周他们将会有三天的假期。
2.Could you tell me if/whether he knows her address
你能告诉我他是否知道她的地址吗?

宾语从句的时态
1.主句是一般现在时,从句根据实际情况使用合适的时态。
例:The headmaster hopes everything goes well.
校长希望一切进展顺利。
2.主句是一般过去时,从句须用相应的过去时态。
例:She was sorry that she hadn’t finished her work on time.
她很遗憾没能按时完成她的工作。
3.若宾语从句表示的是客观真理、自然现象或是格言、谚语等,无论主句是什么时态,宾语从句都要用一般现在时。
例: The teacher told his class that light travels faster than sound.老师告诉学生光速比声速快。

感叹句是表示赞美、惊叹、喜悦等感情的句子。 感叹句通常由what和how引导。 what修饰名词, how修饰形容词或副词。
