【用法】
通过表格可以看出：be动词的形式随主语的变化而变化，具体如下：
1．主语是第一人称单数I(我)时，be动词用am, I am可缩写为I'm。
I am/I'm a girl. 我是一个女孩。
【用法】
2．主语是第三人称单数、单数可数名词或不可数名词时，be动词用is。he is, she is, it is和that is可分别缩写为he's, she's, it's 和that's，this is不可以缩写。
He is/He's my teacher. 他是我的老师。
Her name is/Her name's Jenny.
她的名字是詹妮。
【用法】
注意：(1)be动词还可与其他词缩写，例如：what is＝what's, there is＝there's等。be动词也可与not缩写，例如：is not＝isn't, are not＝aren't。 am与not 不能缩写。
(2)句中有be动词时，变否定句时，在be动词后加not；变一般疑问句时，把be动词提到主语之前。
I am not in Class One. 我不在一班。

【用法】
3．主语是you(we, they, she and I, these等)或复数可数名词(seven coats, many pencils等)时，be动词用are。
