[探究] “What's the date？”是询问日期的句型，意为“今天几号？”。其同义句型为“What date is it？”，其答语均为“It's＋月份＋日期．”。
—What's the date？/What date is it 今天几号？
—It's December 19. 今天是12月19号。
[观察2] It's January 17.
今天是1月17日。
[探究] 英语中常用的日期表达方式为“月日年”，年份之前加逗号。书写时，“日”可用基数词或序数词，序数词常用简略式；阅读时，习惯上都读序数词。例如：April 1/1st, 2010读作“April the first, two thousand and ten”。
[拓展] 序数词用来表示顺序，其构成一般是在基数词词尾加 th。
记忆口诀
基数词变序数词
基变序，很容易，末尾加上th；
一、二、三特殊记，末尾分别t, d, d；
八减t, 九去e, f来把ve替；
y改为ie, 结尾仍有th；
若是遇到几十几，只变个位就可以。
