Step 1 Lead in 1. Read the words and phrases (1)catch up赶上 (2)agreement协议; 协定 (3)blind失明的; 瞎的 (4)ouch哎哟(用于表示突然的疼痛) (5)call off取消; 决定终止 2. Show pictures of accidents and say something about the pictures. Step 2 Warm up Lead students to look at the picture and ask them to answer the questions. 1. What’s happened 2. Do you think the person is seriously hurt 3. What do you think has happened to him Step 3 Listening 1. Let students read the questions in Activity 2 first. 2. Play the tape. 3. Check the answers. 1. Step 5 Careful reading Have students read the dialogue in pairs again and answer the questions: 1. Why did Mr Jackson decide to go and look for Tony and Daming Because it was going to rain. 2. Why did Mr Jackson ask Daming if he could move his foot Because he wanted to know if it was serious. Step 6 Retelling thestory 1. Have students finish Activity 5. 2. Ask them read out the passage.
