一、阅读理解。(本大题共15小题,共30.0分)

Before every Mother's Day, you may rush around to try to find the perfect present. But stores don't carry what most moms want. Moms know you love them, but they like reminders. So on the next two pages, some kids shared what they appreciate (感谢) about their moms.
I appreciate my mom because she helps me know when I'm wrong or right. When I don't know what to do, she is there. The thing I appreciate most about her is that she kisses my head every night.—Amy, 11
My mother shows me that she loves me in so many ways. She helps me with my homework, drives me to camps, makes delicious breakfast for me and reads books with me. She is a great role model to me because she keeps studying while working a full-time job and taking care of our family. My mother is a great mom!—Miles, 11
What I appreciate about my mom is that she is funny and nice. When I am in any difficult situation, she is always the first one there. When I have games, she comes every time. She always pays attention to me. She knows how good I can be, and pushes me to do what I want to.—Lisa, 13
I love my mom because she is very different from most moms. She is my best friend and she is the only one who understands me. She helps me see the world in a different way. She also pushes me to follow my dreams. I'll remember everything she did.—Scott, 13

My 3-year-old loves to meet new people. Unlike his introverted (内向的) mama, he always looks for new friendships. When I take him to the park, secretly hoping it's not busy, he's disappointed if there are "no friends" there.
When he looks up at an adult, telling him or her all about the interesting pictures on his shirt and they look in his direction for a short moment and then look away. It breaks my heart. However, it doesn't happen too often and there are quite a lot of strangers who don't ignore (忽略) my son.
I've noticed that it's often the oldest people that are the most engaging (参与) with children in public. They take the time to greet children they see in their communities and give them their full attention. Maybe with age we all come to love them more.
I think the world could use a little more kindness, and it doesn't take very much effort—just a smile and a simple greeting. When he says hi, you, dear stranger, should look him in the eye, say hello and ask him a question or two. I want my son to know that there's more good out there than bad, and that most people are kind. So, it helps me when strangers don't ignore him in public.
The other day, I took my son to a new grocery store (杂货铺) and we met an employee, who had a lot of things to do but took the time to greet my son. She said, "What big, beautiful blue eyes you have!" She made him feel special. On the way home, he said he wanted to go there again to tell her what was going on in his life.
She is among the many kind people who engage with my kid. Thank you, all the kind strangers out there, for not ignoring my son. It takes a village to raise a child. You give me hope that a nice village for our kids really can exist.
What does the little boy like to do
A. Play with old friends. B. Ask a lot of questions.
C. Look others in their eyes. D. Communicate with strangers.
How does the author feel when strangers talk with her son
A. Proud. B. Thankful. C. Worried. D. Surprised.
What does the little boy probably think of the employee
A. She is a bit cold. B. She is too serious.
C. She is a nice friend. D. She is a funny woman.
What can be the best title for the text
A. Thank you, my nice village
B. Thank you, our new friends
C. Dear son, please be careful about strangers
D. Dear stranger, my son needs your attention
C
Sure, it's good to get along well with your teacher because it makes the time you spend in the classroom more pleasant.
And yes, it's good to get along well with your teacher because, in general, it's smart to learn how to get along well with the different types of people you'll meet throughout your life.
In fact, kids who get along well with their teachers not only learn more, but they're more comfortable about asking questions and getting extra help. This makes it easier for them to understand new materials and do their best on tests. When you have this kind of relationship with a teacher, he or she can be someone to turn to with problems, such as problems with learning or school issues.
Here is a question: what if you don't get along well with your teachers In fact, teachers want to get along well with you and enjoy seeing you learn. But teachers and students sometimes have personality clashes(个性冲突), which can happen between any two people. If you show your teacher that you want to make the situation better, he or she will probably do everything possible to make that happen. By dealing with a problem like this, you learn something about how to get along with people who are different from you.
However, if a certain teacher isn't your favorite, you can still have a successful relationship with him or her, especially ______. Here are some of those responsibilities:
Attend class ready to learn.
Be prepared for class with the right pencils, books, and completed assignments.
Listen when your teacher is talking.
Do your best, whether it's a classroom assignment, homework, or a test.
The passage is written for ________.
A. teachers B. advisers C. students D. parents
According to the passage, getting along well with your teachers will make you ________.
A. have no problems with study
B. have more pleasant time in the classroom
C. get the best scores in the exams
D. get a better seat in the classroom

It is possible for a child to learn how to solve problems in a way that makes everybody happy. Often though, people deal with conflict(冲突) negatively, and try to convince(说服) others that their way is the best by force. Good conflict resolution skills don't seem to be used in most of the conflicts we see or hear about. The following steps are useful in helping children find peaceful ways of solving problems with others.
Begin by letting children know that it is possible to find a good solution. Parents could say something like, "I'm sure if we all think about this we might find a way of everyone getting what they want."
Help children recognize how they are feeling, and help them to express their feelings. Help children to work out what they really want by asking them what they would like to have happened. Help them work out what the possible need is.
Help your child to understand other people's points of view and to learn how to understand their ideas. Ask them what they think other people might be feeling, or how they might feel if they were in the same situation. You could get them to ask other people to say how they are feeling and what they would like to have happened.
Together, you could encourage children to think about different ways that they could solve the problem. Encourage them to come up with several different and interesting ways that they could go about it.
Help children choose what they think works best for everyone, and get them to put them into practice. Stay around to see how they get on, and help them improve the solution if needed.
In our daily life, people often solve conflicts ________.
A. in a friendly way B. by chance
C. in a hard way D. by law
Knowing others' real feelings can help children _______.
A. find other people's interest
B. meet other people's possible needs
C. live in the same way as other people
D. understand and accept other people's ideas
We can learn from the last two paragraphs that _______.
A. children should come up with different ways to solve problems
B. children should stay around to see parents solve problems
C. parents should think of different ways to solve problems
D. parents should decide the best way to solve problems
What's the author's purpose in writing this passage
A. To argue the right way of solving problem.
B. To describe how the conflict would happen.
C. To give tips on solving daily conflicts for kids.
D. To convince parents to take good care of kids.

Nowadays, many parents try their best to give their children a happy and meaningful life. However, too much care and love may spoil a child and even bring about problems.
Two major reasons account for this phenomenon. To begin with, parents today pay too much attention to children’s study, ignoring the importance of developing other skills. Secondly, a lot of parents have done almost everything for their children for the sake of love. As a result, some of them gradually get used to depending on others, unable to look after themselves and face any challenges independently. ①Worse still, quite a few children are becoming self-centered and selfish, which is unhelpful for their future development.
Therefore, it’s high time something should be done to change the situation. Parents should expose children to the hardships in life instead of protecting him from difficulties. ②In addition, it is also of benefit to let children study in a boarding school which can provide them with chances to become more mature and independent.
