Good health is the most valuable thing a person can have but one cannot take good health for granted. It is important to remember that the body needs proper care in order to be healthy. There are three things that a person can do to help stay healthy: eating right food, getting enough sleep, and exercising regularly.
Proper nutrition (营养) is important for good health. Your body cannot work well unless it receives the proper kind of "fuel". Don t eat too much food with lots of sugar and fat. Eat plenty of food high in protein (蛋白质), like meat, fish, eggs and nuts. Vegetables and fruits are very important because they provide necessary vitamins and minerals. However, don t overeat. It is not helpful to be overweight.
Getting the proper amount of sleep is also important. If you don t get enough sleep, you will feel tired and easily get angry. You have no energy. A little amount of sleep over a long period of time may even result in a change of personality (个性). Be sure to allow yourself from seven to nine hours of sleep each day. If you do, your body will feel strong and refreshed, and your mind will be sharp.
Finally, get plenty of exercise. Exercise makes the body stronger, strengthens the muscles (肌肉), and prevents you from gaining weight. It also improves your heart and lungs. If you follow a regular exercise programme, you will probably increase your lifespan (寿命). Any kind of exercise is good. Most sports are good for keeping the body in good shape: basketball, swimming, bicycling, running and so on. Sports are not only good for your body, but they are enjoyable and interesting, too.
If everybody were to eat the right foods, get plenty of sleep and exercise regularly, the world would be a happier and healthier place. We would all live to be much older and wiser.
In order to keep good health, ________.
A. we should eat much sugar and fat
B. we need a larger amount of meat
C. we should take in proper nutrition
D. we must overeat vegetables and fruits
Eating more and sleeping less ________.
A. makes us healthier B. helps keep our personality
C. gets us more energy D. does harm to our health
In the 4th paragraph, the writer wants to tell us ________.
A. how we can strengthen our muscles
B. how important for us to take exercise
C. how we can increase our lifespan
D. how enjoyable and interesting sports are
The best title for the article should be "________".
A. Eating and exercising B. Exercising regularly
C. Staying healthy D. Sleeping enough

I was given the book Running on Faith written by Jason Lester as a birthday gift last month. After I started reading, I really couldn't keep my eyes off it. It is always inspiring to read a story of someone who has gone through obstacles to reach his goals.
Jason Lester is a disabled (残疾的) extreme athlete. When he was twelve years old, a fast car ran a red light and hit him. Then he was sent into the hospital with twenty broken bones and a seriously injured arm. Jason had always wanted to become a famous baseball player, but at that time that dream was gone.
However, Jason loved sports and he still wanted to be a good athlete. He began running and taking part in duathlons (铁人两项) in high school. Years later in 2004, he decided to start training for the Ironman, and has competed in many extreme races since then. In 2008, Jason became the first disabled athlete to complete the Ultraman (320 miles of biking, swimming and running), and it led him to an ESPY award (奖项) for Best Male Athlete With a Disability in 2009.
If you are in a bad situation and don't know what to do, now, Running on Faith is a good book for you. If you love running and want to reach some race goals, this book is good for you, too. Anyway, this book is worth reading for everyone who loves reading and wants to turn dreams into reality.

Most children have ever heard their parents yell "sit up straight!" or "don't hang your head!" when they eat dinner. Nowadays, it is also heard around another activity — video games. Ten-year-old Owaish admits it takes him three to four hours a day to play games on his tablet computer. In addition, he plays for about two hours on the smart phone every day. As a result, he started suffering a serious pain in the neck around June or July. What's worse the pain has spread to the hand and back gradually, which makes his mother Mehzabin become concerned.
The doctors note the number of young children with the chronic pain(慢性病) in their necks, arms and shoulders is on the increase sharp in recent years. They are not aging, they haven't had an accident, the blood reports are fine, their X-rays are fine, and their MRIs are fine. Facts have proved that the pain is from the poor posture(姿势) while they are playing video games on smart phones or other electronic devices. 19-year-old student Nida feels pain in the finger which holds the weight of her smart phone most of the day. Nida almost uses her smart phone 24/7, which means 24 hours a day, seven days a week, or all the time.
Health experts predict there will be not only physical(身体的) but mental(精神的) problems resulting from the overuse of electronic devices. They encourage people to often take breaks and exercise from using computers, smart phones or other devices. Stand up! Stretch(伸展) the legs, back, shoulders and arms in all the possible directions. That's the most effective way and maybe the key to solving the problem completely. After all, the medication doesn't help sometimes.

C. How To Avoid The Pain In The Neck
D. How To Be More Fit By Playing Games

The aging affects the human body in many ways. One of them is muscle loss (肌肉松弛) as we age. Scientists may not know exactly when muscles loss starts. 16 . Here are the right ways to do it.
Equipment (设备) strength training
Equipment strength training is the best way to slow down the process (过程) of muscle loss. Many gyms and health clubs have such muscle-building equipment as weights or running machines. 17 . Therefore, if you are new to such kind of training, experts suggest you work with a trainer or physical fitness specialist to avoid injury.
Also listen to your body. If an exercise causes pain, stop immediately. After the pain goes away you can try the exercise again, but with a lower weight or speed.
No equipment strength training
You do not have to use special exercise equipment or go to a gym to do strength training. You can just use your own body weight. Such exercises include push-ups, side jumps, jumping jacks or deep knee bends. 18 .
Exercises that use body weight are usually safer for beginners. They can also be easier on the body, and you can do them anywhere.
Warm up
19 . Cold muscles injure more easily than warm muscles. Walking for 5 to 10 minutes is enough to warm up your muscles.
20
Give your muscles time to recover. Experts say it is better to rest one full day between exercising each specific muscle group.
A. Have a break
