Step 1 Revision
1. Free talk
It’s spring now and the weather is not too cold or too hot. It is good time for outdoor activities. What outdoor activities did you do last week

Step 2 Lead-in
People all around the world like outdoor activities.Watch a video and write the activities down in groups
【Purpose】Lead students into the topic of outdoor activities.
Step 3 A competition
Present several pictures of outdoor activities and have students rush to answer what activities they are.
Playing football riding

Playing badminton camping
Swimming jogging
Cycling……
【Purpose】Make students remember and enrich words about outdoor activitiesandhelp them understand the characteristics of different outdoor activities.
Step 4 Presentation
1. Finish Part A, writingcorrect letters in the boxes.
2. Explain the structure “go + v-ing”, and ask students to make a list of outdoor activities they know.
e.g. go fishing, go walking, go shopping, go skating, go diving, go camping,
gohiking, go cycling, go running, go jogging, go skiing, go swimming
3. Watch some videos about their classmates’ outdoor activities
【Purpose】Make students master names of outdoor activities and the structure “go + v-ing”. The dialogue can help set up a scaffolding for Part B.
Step 5 Disscussion in groups
Do a survey about your family members’ favourite outdoor activities and give him or her some advice.

A Walk in the Woods
You will begin your walk in the car park. From here, the path goes along next to a stone wall for a short way. You will turn through an archway and walk into the woods. As you walk along this path, you are going to see little blue flowers.
You will arrive at a clearing. You will need to walk across the clearing and around the lake to find the path again. Walk past the old house and under the archway. The path will cross over a river. Now, you will be able to rest and eat at the picnic tables.
From here, you will be able to walk along a raised wooden path over some marshland. You will see many birds and flowers along the way.
