Kwanzaa(宽扎节) is a celebration of African American history and culture. It begins on December 26th and continues until New Year's Day, January 1st.
During the festival, a family member, usually the youngest child,lights candles in a special candle holder. Each night a candle is lit. Traditionally there are three green candles, three red candles and a central black candle. They represent the seven Kwanzaa principles(原则). The principles are believed to play a big role in building strong, successful families,neighborhoods, etc. In the evenings, adults share stories and explain how to follow the seven principles in daily life.On the sixth day, which falls on New Year's Eve,family and friends get together to enjoy a large meal.

Spain is famous for its tomato festival,called La Tomatina. It happens in a small town Bunol on the last Wednesday of August every year. During the festival there are all kinds of activities,but the most exciting part is the tomato fight. It takes place at the end of long celebration. You are encouraged to throw tomatoes in the fight. There're many stories about how the festival began. One of the stories goes that during the 1940's,some friends started a tomato fight,while another story is about a local band. The Lantern Festival
The Lantern Festival is one of the most important traditional festivals to the Chinese people. It usually comes on the fifteenth day in the first month according to the Chinese calendar. We like the Lantern Festival because we can enjoy beautiful view at night. Usually we eat a kind of sweet rice dumplings called yuanxiao,and we go out to watch colorful lanterns with our family members. When it gets dark, it looks beautiful everywhere with lots of lanterns.We also enjoy some firework shows or guess riddles. It's great fun! All the people enjoy themselves during the festival.
