In order to showcase(展示) the good quality of outstanding rural teachers, a large-scale public welfare activity(公益活动) "Looking for the Most Beautiful Rural Teachers" was launched in Beijing in 2018. On September 15,thirty teachers, including Zhang Guimei, principal of Lijiang Huaping Girls’ Middle School in Yunnan province, won the title of "The Most Beautiful Rural Teacher”.(最美乡村教师)
Rooted in poor mountainous areas for more than 40 years, Zhang Guimei founded(建立) China's first all-free girls’ high school and helped more than 1,800 girls in poor mountainous areas realize their dreams. She is the "Mother Zhang" who has devoted herself to the cause of education(教育事业).
