1. turn down an invitation 拒绝邀请
turn down “拒绝”，相当于refuse。Turn
down为“动词+副词”型短语，当代词作
其宾语时，应放在turn 与down之间。
例：他拒绝了好朋友的建议。

turn down 还可意为将声音“关小；调低”。
反义短语为turn up“开大；调高”。
